I am quite anti "conspiracy theory" and laugh at certain of these kinds of fears, but agree with limiting the control one gives to other entities over one's life.

There is always going to be bad implementations of anything that is on the bleeding edge of technology. Still waiting on my flying car and Rosie the Robot from the Jetson's though.

 

this is uncanny valley if it was not a person or thing but just a situation lol ......he made some valid points but he thinking way too much we as humans always addicted to trying to prevent something from happening but at the end of it all......all the shit go's out the window and everything still hits the fan so whats the point

matter of trust is abstract term, but video is merely about functionality of physical device you buy,
even if that whole incident is unfortunate misunderstanding, it's a great example of false accusation followed by (maybe) automated denial - and such things will inevitably happen MUCH more with AI growing like mushrooms after rain nowadays

 

"turn the sh*t on yourself" ...Reggio Emilia, one mad died locked inside his smart home while the water from a dam had his town covered because of the dam that was spilling, trapped in!

 

Basically anything that ties people to their smartphones sucks. They want to make us DEPEND on these things, they want us to use AI (because AI has an answer to everything), stop thinking for ourselves, stop being creative and stop asking questions.

It's fucking time to wake up people. They want us to own nothing and be happy and control every aspect of our lives. That's where all this is headed.

Yeah, I don't even need to watch this video to agree. A little common sense should enable anyone who has any to recognize the potential dangers of a fully digtalized home in advance and make a confident decision about whether to accept those risks. I'm not going to go for this all-smart bullshit, that much is evident.

 

this doesn't even have anything to do with conspiracy theories. honestly? i don't give a shit about conspiracy theories. i don't care if i live on a flat earth with the lizard king reigning in its hollow core, or if man has never been to the moon. i don't care if michael jackson is hanging out with adolf hitler's 134-year-old ass on a tropical island somewhere, drinking piña colada. It doesn't affect me. It doesn't affect my life at all. But mass surveillance and totalitarian influence on the front door, the windows, and every appliance in my house? I've always assumed anything I can control via interwebs, so can someone else given the right circumstances. So, unlock the house, control appliances, start the car... big nope from me. I'll be the old Luddite on this one.

Of course, someone can conceivably control all my money but they can do that anyway. At least I control my front door, and no one can spy. Well, except for my phone. Whatever.
