Hi folks,

Anyone who has an idea how to update berlin wppdwinds 1.1 with update 1.6 and add expansion A and B?

I can`t seem to figure out how the folder-structure should look like when done successfully.

Anyone?

I don't know if it's the official way to handle the folder structure, but this is how i personally did it:

Instruments: Samples:

Before you work with the library, make a "Batch re-save" (Kontakt>Menu>Files>Batch re-save), so that the allocation patches/samples is right again.

I think Foyer ask if he can add the two expansions (A & B) into the Berlin Woodwinds! I don´t think this is posseble!

The update 1.6 is another thing --- just add it to Instrument folder in Berlin Woodwinds!

 

@phloopy, I must confess, i don't exactly get what you mean.
I thought i have A+B included (look at the samples folder), but to be honest: i didn't work with BWW yet.
I don't know much about it, so maybe i did something wrong without realizing it?

These are not an integrated part of the Berlin Woodwinds *no* ..... If they can be added/integrated I doubt, but maybe someone can tell us all?

 

BWW 1.1 is working fine like it always has, but I want to update and add the expansions into the berlin woodwinds folder so that it all works in one.

This is how my folders looks like befor touching it:





Could some one let me know what should go where in a bit more detailed way?

I just tried a few patches and played around a bit. Everything seems to work.

Look at the pictures. You can put the instruments of the basic library and Exp. A+B together in one folder, all the multis together in one folder, all the samples together in one folder.
That's all what i did and what you can see, when looking at the pics.
I put all the other expansion files (nkr, nkc) together with the samples in one folder, but it doesn't really matter where you put them. Where ever they are, finally make a Batch re-save
and everything is o.k..

With respect to the function it doesn't matter if you put the packages all together in one single library or if you make use of them under three different libraries.

Now i will take a look at the links given by phloopy.

Btw. i do not know if my own instruments folder structure corresponds to the original. It's some time ago, but i remember that i have changed something,
probably the enumeration numbers, after i've added the expansions. However, you can do it your way. The structure is not crucial. What matters is the final Batch re-save.
Afterwards Kontakt is able to find all the necessary files, when you run any of the instrument patches.

He actually prepared one but he posted it as a thread on AudioZ and it must have gotten deleted so he wanted a little time before preparing another one. In the future if someone is saying that they will post it soon please be patient and wait rather than opening another topic here.

I woke up this morning and my first thought was: you should have told foyer, that he shouldn't trust you and backup the stuff before making any changes.
It would have been annoying, if you had to download everything again.
Now i am glad it worked for you too. :dancing:

How to update Berlin Woodwinds to 1.6
1.Overwrite the old articulation_performer folder with the new one (it's the same files)
-
2.Merge & Overwrite the old Documentation with the new one
-
3.Back up the old 1.1 instrument & Multi folders in a rar (just in case)then delete the folders
-
4.Add the 1.6 instrument & Multi folders to the main library folder (like always)
-
5.install the MAC or Win Installers if you didn't do so before, then move them to the Documentation folder
-
6.Move the new samples to the old sample folder (overwrite the bww_container.nkc & bww_container.nkr files)
-
7.Delete the old .nicnt and move the new one there (when you start kontakt the database window will pop-up, then click yes, you don't have to re add the library in Kontakt)


How to add Expansions to your Main Berlin Woodwinds Library Folder
1. Make sure you added all the libraries individually in Kontakt and they are working without problems.
-
2.Merge/or rar Expansion A & B Documentation Folders to your main library Documentation Folder
-
3.Merge Expansion A & B Instrument folders to your main library Instrument folder, there should be 00-20 instruments folders
-
4.Merge Expansion A & B Multis folders to your main library Multis folder
-
5.Move the Expansion A & B Samples to your main library Samples folder
-
6.install the MAC or Win Installers if you didn't do so before, then move them to the Documentation folder
-
7.Move the Expansion A & B .nicnt to your main library Documentation Folder
-
8.Move the following to your Main Berlin Woodwinds library folder, from the EXP folders
bww_container_expansion_A_1.0.nkc
bww_container_expansion_A_1.0.nkr
bww_exp_b_container_1.0.0.nkc
bww_exp_b_container_1.0.0.nkr
Orchestral Tools Berlin Woodwinds EXP A_info.nkc

9.Open Kontakt and get back to producing lol..Cheers.

P.S. You dont have to batch-resave unless you want to (But Highly Recommended, just back up your Instrument & Multis Folders in a rar or a back-up folder)
