    Hey Everyone

I am hoping one of you fine folks can help me with something.

I am using OBS to record some of my Studio One 6 (Legit) sessions. Everything records just fine apart from the OBS recording doesnt record the metronome from Studio One 6. I can hear the metronome just fine whilst I am doing the recording and it picks up all the VST instruments and audio tracks just fine, just not the metronome.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get this working please.

I watch so many different YouTube videos of people doing the same thing and I can hear their metronome just fine in their videos.

Any help would be be very much appreciated.

    Thank You

-Not quite sure what you mean , but you know that you can record the metronome as a seperate track ?
( click tool-button in transportbar -and then "render" ).
Notice , that if you let the click on when playback , you will hear it twice (louder).

    btw: what is OBS ?

    Windows?
Many infos are missing, like the choice in OBS of the audio source ("what you hear"?), etc.

    OBS Studio v29.1.2 PC

I hear everything in the recording thats played within Studio One, the audio tracks, VST instruments etc apart from the metronome, yet when I am making the video I hear the metronome just fine.

I am using reastream plugin in my DAWs Master Output and within OBS Studio.

Are you using ReaStream in post in your master bus? Because I think that's why you can't hear the metronome, it isn't part of the chain, it's just playing together with the rest. Unless the listen bus also outputs the metronome, I don't think you'll be able to record it without using a loopback.

do you have separate metronome track in Studio One? if not then it can't go through Master where you have ReaStream plugin engaged

Also be aware that if you are using processors on your master bus and choose to run your metronome through your master bus by either printing your metronome or using a metronome as an insert on a dedicated channel your mater bus effects will process that sound.

It will be EQed which is not a big deal, but it will also trigger compression cycles and effect limiters and whatever else you are running.

It might be nominally advised to create a stereo summing bus before your master bus for all your musical buses that you want processed and an other for your non-processed sounds such as metronomes or fart noises or whatever.

In case you can't fix the issue, I suggest to use an ASIO/WDM router like VoiceMeeter or Asio Link Pro (the last is "abandonware").

    Hi

Yes the Reastream is in post on the master output.

Is there a different place I should put it?

    Thanks

I think I did try something called Banana once if memory serves but it was a bit of a pain to get working and I think it introduced a lot of latency.

I will look it up again

    thank you.

Haven't tested it myself, but what if you try and enable the listen bus of Studio One and put reastream on there? Probably the metronome sound is played after the reastream plugin, so it doesn't get recorded by OBS.

I do agree, I left voicemeeter too because of the latency, but Asio link pro didn't have the issue.
Only, it's a pain in the ass (even worse than voicemeeter) to setup, but once you understand it, it's simply awesome.

Thank you I will look that up.

I didnt think about the metronome sound being played after the reastream plugin that certainly makes perfect sense.

I watch so many YouTube videos of people doing exactly what I am trying to do and you hear there metronome just fine. It must be something so simple I am missing or not getting.

Yeah Voicemeeter as good as it can be was a bit of a pain to setup and configure correctly.

I am looking at Asio Link Pro now and will look to give that a go if I can find it.
