Yesterday we got a 280gb Heatup 3 XP post on the sister site - most of the XP's are Mac format.

Someone in the comments of the post explained how to extract the .dmg files and add the presets for windows machines instead. Unfortunately a mod deleted this comment as it was technically unrelated. Now the 280gb has completed downloading and I cant figure out how to add the preset banks.

    Any ideas homies?

    yes, links to developers site

I don't think so... because in this case anyone can ask google one simple question:
    what is dmg?
    and the answer:
A DMG file stands for Disk Image File

winrar can open ISO files. maybe any other archive manger can open DMG?
    and the answer:
    yes, 7-zip

Did you really think I created a whole thread asking how to 7-zip a file? Bruh.

The unzipped XP's don't register in Heatup like the native windows ones do - hence me creating this thread.

I read comments for previous releases about problems with importing expansions...
in this case developer may removed manual import and now expansions installing automatically in one place. because all expansions now
what is inside expansion dmg files?

I don't know which windows software now support extracting from *.pkg - maybe it's not a problem anymore.
when I was on windows I find a simple solution (at least for that times).

extract files from *.dmg or convert *.dmg to *.iso wasn't a problem in past and I'm sure it's not a problem now.

after extracting files / converting *.dmg installation file *.pkg can be opened with winrar or 7-zip
    winrar.png
extract file from *.pkg to any place on your disk.

to unpack files from this extracted file I use universal extractor
    uniextract.png
press OK and wait few seconds. done.
    folder.png
next step - find IgniteVST folder in windows application support directory, open it and merge unpacked HeatUp3 folder with existing HeatUp3 follder.

last step - follow instruction by developer and merge Heatup Library folders.

Thank you @Talula you fixed it.

It was the universal extractor part that did it. Thank you for your help  Appreciate you

    This is under Windows 10
1 Extract dmg with 7zip to its own folder.
2 Place Heatup Library contents to where you originally set them up.
3 Right mouse click the Heatup3 Expansion name of it.pkg and extract.
    4 That makes a Payload` file.
5 Right mouse click the Payload file and it makes a Library Folder with an Application Support folder in it.
6 This is the path of my folder as an example:
    Heatup3 Expansion Afro Trap\Library\Application Support\IgniteVST\Heatup3

7 Move all those files to C:\Users\computername\AppData\Roaming\IgniteVST\HeatUp3

I have only done one so far.
Sorry about posting in mac Olymoon I was just answering a question and did not realize it. Thanks for all your work.

No, actually nobody had a hard time using 7-zip to unarchive a file.

If you had read past the first message of the thread you would already know that though.

This was extremely helpful. I moved all to C:\Users\computername\AppData\Roaming\IgniteVST\HeatUp3 and can now see the presets in my Heat Up plugin, but when I go to use them it doesn't work and asks me to find the library. I tried selecting where I have the rest of the library to no avail. Any advice? Thanks so much.

All the samples have to go into the same place where you set up the samples when you first set it up.
These are in addition to moving all that payload stuff to the c: users
I put mine on the F drive
    "F:\Heatup Library\afrotrapb_kalimba"
    "F:\Heatup Library\afrotrapc_eight"
    "F:\Heatup Library\afrotrapc_padeleven"
    "F:\Heatup Library\bass blakk rims 808"
    "F:\Heatup Library\bass clean 808"
    "F:\Heatup Library\bass crushed 808"
    "F:\Heatup Library\afrotrapb_07_Synth"
    "F:\Heatup Library\afrotrapb_08_Synth"

small example but my folder already has 1611 folders just from the stock demo and the afro trap pack
