"And here’s the next blockbuster synth. Many of you asked for the Edge and here it is in production and ready to ship. It’s a super cool synth that is now finally in production. Check it out." - Behringer, via Facebook

    Also, MS-1 MKII:
"Many of you asked for the MS-1. Here it is, but as improved MKII. This revised version is based on the original 662 chips for a vastly improved VCF and VCA performance. And then we also added the dual glide function. We’re very excited about the new MS-1 MKII as it’s as close as it gets to the original."

"Many of you asked for some SPICE in your life. He hear you.

SPICE comes with full MIDI/USB implementation. The unit is currently undergoing final beta testing and hopefully will go into production soon. We believe we can produce SPICE for 249 USD max." - Behringer via FB

I have both the DFAM and Subharmonicon which are extremely solidly built, sound amazing and work together like they're best friends. Even though the Behringer stuff is cheaper, much so, I would still go with the Moog given the same availability to purchase (if the B stuff ever would be released).

Wow. Hadn't seen anything about them doing a Subharmonicon clone. The Moog Mother 32, DFAM, and Subharmonicon clones together in a rack could be very interesting, using the Crave, Edge, and Spice together.

I think this applies to anyone. Most would rather the original, for the the original sounds, more solid build, and to support the original developer in return for their R&D and dev and so on. However, I personally think cheaper clones can only be a good thing as it allows those with more limited budgets access to the hardware market and, ultimately, competition is always best for the customer and may force the originals to become cheaper in time if they see more and more competition, even if cloning lies uncomfortably with some, especially of things still in production by the original manufacturer.

To be honest, the Crave and Edge sound great from what I've heard, so no reason to think Spice won't sound equally good, and to be able to buy a Crave, Edge, and Spice for the same price as a single Mother 32 has to make them an appealing option for most, even with the above possible negatives.

I can't say anything about quality as I haven't tried Behringer's new boxes but they sound just as good to my ears, just a bit different and Starsky Carr's video above covers those differences well. The Edge is not a clone exactly, more like very closely based. Personally I'd go for the cheaper option, if I felt like buying something to buy something because this sort of sound has no place in what I'm currently doing.

I've got a Crave and an Edge and I'll almost certainly buy a Spice as well. I've also got a Subsequent 37. I love my Moog, but I can have all three of those little boxes for the cost of one of the little Moog boxes. Sure, I'd rather have the Moogs but the build quality on the Behringers is solid and they sound great.

Wish they would make clones "as close as it gets" the first time around

The Behringer Grind looks even more interesting, although I already have a MiniFreak.

I have a Behringer Model D and absolutely love it. I just got it this week. I'm now pretty much on board with these Behringer knock offs. I get that there's a lot of drama around them, but I honestly can't afford to drop $5000 for the real deal, so I'll take the $200 clone.

I had a lot of interest in the Edge too as my next synth, but I don't know if I can really produce good beats with that. That isn't to say it can't make good beats, I just mean I'm not sure it would be very good in my hands. The workflow on something like that is a little different than what I'd be used to. I'd like to try one sometime though or maybe a VST that has a similar concept to it.

I like the Kobol expander, but the build quality could be better.. I would never go live with it:)

I keep thinking Uli's done the most transcendent thing in history. He legitimately "warezed" hardware
Still waiting for the Jupiter 8 and Juno 6/60. Takes forever lol.
