The idea is great as the market doesnt have anything like that yet.
But i assume not with that conditions, no plugin support, weak specs.
But maybe this will change with different versions and time.

Also another point, is this upgradable like better CPU, bigger SSD more RAM?
But i can see this being a great idea for the future.

    Might this help?

Out of the box yes, but I wont rest until I have it exact, and then unlike these muppets who charge for things on You Tube.. I'll give it to anyone who wants it!

It isn't really.. It's how you prioritise your needs, and not literally what you can do with it... Workarounds can save money but still give you what you want with a bit of inventiveness.

I mean, if you're talking about a laptop instead of a push 3.. Yes you need to be inventive to be able to do almost the same thing, but just think about what else you can do with a Laptop that you cant with a push 3!

The Bad things about pushes...the stick and glue after time...and Push 2 crack in the Night without use I thinks it was the USb Port....I had different ones and all are have this

Glad I didn't buy the two previous versions! Can't wait for the Push 4 to come out to repeat this line of thought.

Yikes. what on earth could have caused that? Did you leave it out in the burning hot sun? something like that? Or could someone have dropped something on it without telling you?

The one interesting element of it is, as a hardware standalone unit, according to the Sonicstate demo video, the CPU, RAM, and SSD are all upgradeable in it. In the video, the guy from Ableton suggests it's designed to be a long term investment and instrument device, and so if in 5 years the CPU is beginning to get a bit outdated and beginning to struggle, or if you immediately want to run bigger projects so need a bigger SSD and/or RAM, you can upgrade this as per your own needs. Even though I have no use for a standalone unit in my workflow, this bit is pretty neat and sets it above the likes of the Maschine and MPC standalone devices for me.

Noooooo I won‘t feel complete till I have it. Just kidding got the 1 & the 2 so no need fo a third one. Actually I would prefer a device with 128 Knobs & appropriate displays as I hardly ever play the pads live apart from previewing kits quickly. I only use the pads for quickly setting up beats in sequence mode but then I adjust velocities already with the mouse. I don‘t like the 8 knobs per page thing either, it‘s tedious and would rather prefer to have more knobs for synth sound design but with a streamlined layout where Cutoff, Resonance, ADSRs etc. are always in the same spot across multiple plugins. That would be awesome.

I mean where‘s the point in having Cut & Res on Page 1 and Filter ADSR on page 2 etc...

As a guy who tried A LOT of hardware/software solutions, there is a common problem unsolved to this day :

Hardware visual feedback will NEVER be as readable as my 32 inch computer screen
Hardware menus/controls/GUI ... will NEVER be as flexible as mouse/keyboard shortcuts

Hardware feedback on COMPUTER screen is my fav solution.
Like Studio One Control Link / Focus :

FL Studio is good in this domain too.

Tablet controller (Lemur, touchOSC ...) is a good complement to computer screen.
    But only a complement.

I will NEVER use again a DAW without generic hardware controller integration.

I don't care about those dedicated controllers, apart track controllers (Mackie Control, Fader Port ...) because they don't NEED to be customized, unlike regular MIDI controllers.
They are already "set in stone" with engraved buttons functions.

If controllers are becoming computers ... the ultimate point is already crossed.
Without me on this one
It will never be enough flexible to compete with a real computer.

A computer and generic controllers for the win !

    This sounds amazing!

i think Ableton going a very good direction here with nobody else being up to the standards.

Intel NUC's are awsome. im pretty sure you can slam in some freaking cool intel CPU there.
because i3 is kinda laughable. but the question is, will you do that after you spend 2k€ on the stock Push3?

So in that case i assume you need windows (or which OS) on the P3, but why no VST/Plugin support?

Good luck dragging your desktop with 32" display to gigs.

My Push2 mostly gathers dust on my desk.
I can't see anything in the Push3 that would mean I would use it more if I owned one.

I was really happy when Push 2 came out and they gave Push 1 owners a surprisingly cheap update price if they sent back their original units. Bummed they aren't willing to do that again
