Hey all

Apologies if this has been dealt with before. I'm trying to help someone install EZBAss for Mac. I gave them a file (tried with version 1.0 first) from sister site but they are having auth problems. I am on a PC so can't see what's in the dmg or what needs to be done. Can anybody give me a pointer as to what download works?

I use Wineskin Winery for all the keygens, always stay offline when doing so, and when my DAW is open.
Never had a problem with authorizing any Toontrack goodies..

 

So the Mac version definitely uses a keygen?

Also will using this version of EZBass affect legit EZKeys/EZDrummer?

 

I don't remember using a keygen or having problems. Is there no "read me" file included in the .zip? I think I used the team vr one

Intel or ARM? I don't think any of the recent releases have worked on ARM, they just crash. Intel should be ok. You have to go back a good number of versions before it'll work on ARM...

 

No, that's wrong. All latest CE V.R releases work fine under Rosetta, no keygen involved.

EZbass v1.1.7, EZdrummer v3.0.6, EZkeys v1.3.3, Superior Drummer v3.3.6 all work here on M1 Air, Ventura 13.2.1.

 

To the other question - I don't have experience with mixing legit and cracked toontrack products so could only make assumptions. I assume it's fine lol

Ok so some progress of sorts.. After using the file "Toontrsck - EZBass 1.0.0 (Team V.R.dmg) he now gets the message: " The EZBass plugin could not be found. Please quit this application and reinstall EZBass"

 

This is where 4th party troubleshooting becomes difficult.

Where is that error coming from? The installer, the daw, the standalone app, or Mac?

I never got that message. Maybe try doing the 1.0 installer then 1.1.7 update right after.

Maybe some issue with file paths. i.e installed folder is here but the software is looking some where else for the plugin

Could be damaged file. Try downloading again.

Could be security settings blocking parts of installer? Could be on your end or his. Win11 tries to hide "cracked" files when downloaded/unzipped

I hear you, agree and apologise! Pretty sure it's not at my (Win10) end as I always make sure to disable AV etc when dealing with these things. I'll grab the 1.1.7 update and see if that helps!

 

No need to apologize. I didn't mean to sound snarky lol. Just expressing the difficulty of the situation. Maybe Iet my try to reinstall ezbass on my end to recreate the steps

Maybe facetime the person or zoom screen share to troubleshoot

OK so I got him to install 1.1.7 update. He now says: "The update was ok and I also installed the midi packs that was included and I see a list of EBX Libraries and Add-On Packs in the Grooves section now. But the main page window is black. I assume there’s suppose to be guitar graphics there?

I see a patched version that's torrent-able... not sure why the V.R version is troublesome
Also, is your friend on a silicone-based mac?

 

Apparently it's an M1 Mac

 

Ezbass got M1 support with version 1.1.0. I guess that explains why your buddy had issues with the 1.0 install. Not sure why the guitar graphic won't display with the 1.1.7 update.

It appears that it has yet to be cracked for M1, which is my guess as to why it's not cooperating..
