Thanks man! That's pretty much what I thought on all points. Yeah, it would not be a big surprise to
see NAM rolled into a hardware unit. The dev is a code monster. Near as I can tell, NAM slightly edges
out the competition. It's catures are just a wee bit more faithful to the original hardware sounds.
He's also brilliant in making it free. His user base is big and growing.....making NAM much more valuable
    to prospective corporate buyers.

NAM being "open", ANYONE can come with an hardware solution soon.
    Already on raspberry.

But on this side, ToneX is really killing everything.
For 450 bucks new with software licence, nothing can beat it.

Too bad they didn't created an Amplitube pedal with everything

Yup there's your problem, each time you open ToneX MAX it calls home and checks the license, pretty sure it's the cause. I could be wrong though. But yeah, sure grab the databases from here !

Considering the buzz around ToneX, all the Kemper/QC dreamers having finally an affordable solution (myself included !), and the lack of FX with ToneX, I think it's only a matter of time. Give it 2-3 years, let them milk ToneX pedal v1, and they will come with a v2 including Amplitube that's for sure

Oh yes ! Hope they'll copy powerful Mod Dwarf spirit and its "Quad Core ARM A35 CPU at 1.3GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage"

That is one of the main reasons why I won't buy one. Also the HX Stomp updates are keeping me happy. I would say that the industry is around three to seven years away from making something that will satisfy my tone hunger.

IK already has pedals their Xseries released not so long ago so an Amplitube pedal would make those obsolete. So my guess with the release of Tonex pedal is that it would be the missing link to the X series pedals.
Hence the X in Tone (X)
Although i really cant understand why anyone would buy those X pedals for 399 EACH when they can buy a used Line6 HX Effects for less than what 1 X pedal cost and get almost every pedal in all 4 X-pedals and also much better modeled pedals and all that in one unit.
The only downside is perhaps it has fixed impedance input to 1M.

Well, that would also depend on how many units of Xseries do they sell. They would be shooting themselves in the foot not to play against competition with a potentially top selling unit to protect a line of products that doesn't sell that much.

Also if we are talking about all their amplitube effects and not just the ones included in the Xseries pedals they also have a horse for the race.
Depending about the sound one is after, for example , personally I find HX effects fuzzes almost useless for the sound I'm after comparing them with the ones in amplitube. Actually there a quite a few effects there that I would love to have in a pedal and considering the price of a good analog pedal I would seriously be into getting a unit that offers the ones from aplitube.

In my opinion they will not go for a separate effects unit first, but more likely for a Tonex big brother offering effects and few extra features to compete with competition on another level.

We will see but i doubt they will release an Amplitube pedal concider the price they take for ONE X pedal an Amplitube pedal will cost alot more than the Quad Cortex maybe similar to AXE FX III so yeah they will shoot themself in the foot for sure.

Do you really think they get to use all those brand names for free?

I bet they had to pay alot for that.

And still they dont sound like the real deal at all many other plugins have nailed those brands alot better but maby guitarists are stupid and have bad ears they think wow it says Mesa Fulltone Fender etc so those companys let them use their name and logo it must sound like the real deal.

Not to mention all artist bundles it was so funny when Satch said i used the old Pro Tools Sansamp plugin (Released in early 2000 and almost never updated) on everything on my latest album.
Why didn't he used his "faithful" recreation of his gear that is in Amplitube instead?

Yeah the sound of the fuzz in HX Effects is not good beacuse of the fixed input impedance at 1M
The new fuzz model of EHX Russian Big Muff released with FW 3.60 uses 1M and sounds pretty good to my ears it reacts fantastic to the volym knob on my strat. The real pedal from the 70,s uses 320k according to the schematic so i guess the coders at Line6 has thought of the impedance problem when they modeling the pedal.
There are some other effects in HX family that has lower impedance like the Roland RE-201 Tape Echo
    Some modulation aswell.
So i bought a Radial Tonebone Dragster to fix the issues with the impedance problem on my HX Effects and they sound alot more convincing now.
    https://www.radialeng.com/product/dragster

But i have never liked digital modeling fuzzes the ones in Amplitube sounds crap maybe they also need lower impedance? and i havent tried them using my Helix Floor (which has several input ìmpedance settings available from 10K to 1M)
And so does every other plugin i tried.

So i use my homebuilt Fuzz instead its the same with Wah pedals i use my Vox or my Cry Baby instead of some digital recreations.

    hi Guitarmaniac64,
I agree, IK won't release an Amplitube modeler.
[offtopic : about Helix : do you use auto impedance or you set it manually ? about dragster : I own one : great passive tool]

Sorry for this question you TONEX pedal owners. Has the unit a built in tuner? I can´t see info about it in the manual. Many thanks in advance

Quite a bad move from them, especially since there's a tuner in ToneX. Not hard to implement software-wise, just a simple button (not even a footswitch needed) to add to the pedal...

Does someone know how to do a tone model choice automation in a DAW ? I have a project in which I'm playing several different guitars (never simultaneously) and I'd like to have only 2 tracks, and automate the tone model when I switch. I'm using Studio One btw

Hi Friends. I´ve noticed that when using a DI only model paired with some hi quality 3rd impulse (York Audio), the overall volume is significantly lower than the same model captured by the same user as a whole (Amp +cab). Is this normal? Is there a way to compensate this other than turning up the volume of the amp?
Thanks so much for your input.
