Ohh, like recording MIDI on all of those tracks at one time? I apologize, you are correct, no, not at all.

I only use Cubase so I don´t know about other DAWs. But it could happen there also cause the Hybrid Cores are different than HT or any other CPUs I know. But I don´t know how Reaper, S1 or Ableton handle that kind of CPU. Good question for real Users.

You can disable the "Bad" Cores in Taskmanager. In Taskmanager switch to Details. RightMouseKlick at Cubase or Nuendo, Affiliations -than select only the first 8 Cores ( if you disabled HT at Bios ) if HYperThreading is active select the first 16 Cores. Disable all other. Load your Song and see if it works ;) This should fix the Problem but must be done everytime you use Nuendo or Cubase. Or you look at the link:

If you can do it like there - a Shortcut will do that for you.

I would not say those modern Intel CPUs don't perform well, it's a little more complicated.
The thing is - These CPUs don't have 12 cores. They have 8+4. Thats not the same.
You have 8 performance cores and 4 energy efficient cores.
For the average office user that likes to game on weekends this is perfect.
teams and excel runs on those 4 efficiency cores, *insert game the kids play nowadays* runs on those 8 perfomance cores.
this is 99% of the population and thats just fine, you don't need 16 cores for gaming, you need GPU power and max single core power.
And for office stuff the most important thing is how to idle perfectly well.
Now what should a DAW do with that setup?
Not easy and DAW coders and OS coders alike will have to come up with ways how to handle load in this scenario.
They will learn how to put plugin load on the performance cores and have the effeciency cores handle the gui.
    or something similar.
But we're not quite there yet. Just remember how long it took until people knew what to do with more than one cpu core.
The big question is: Is your system limiting you in any way? would you like to load two more plugins and thats more it can handle?
Just out of curiosity: Why would you prefer Intel over AMD? (I'm not trying to convert you).

Cubase important settings and logics: you need always static frequency of your CPU and Power.
    - Power scheme - max performance - turn off all energy savings (also for USB in device manager)
    - In bios turn off all energy savings

    also check this tread: https://forums.steinberg.net/t/how-...y-with-p-cores-for-intel-12th-13th-gen/822833

I don't know if thats the thing to do with those intel cpus, but i would not recommend that in general. It's an outdated tip imho.
yes, +15 years ago we had to do that to avoid dropouts and have low latencies. My system is about 5 years old now and I use the usuals energy saving options. I wouldnt want 16 cpu cores max out when I edit something with practicly no cpu load.
you can alway use latency check to make sure.
so far i don't have any problems.
I'm on amd cpu and amd gpu.
