As a pedal owner I don't have knowledge of db files as I just swap from the Tonex database.
After auditioning 450 amps I have about 100 severely modified profiles that really sing, mainly high gain.
Digging through the dredge is a hard slog.
A lot of high gain profiles are too noisy for use, even with the really nice gate.
Your recommendations are welcome

 

anyone know if this is able to be ran on a Mac through something like PlayOnMac?

 

Hi guys, new to tonex here.

does anyone have a library.db which has some good profiles, but it doesnt take ages to load Tonex. i recently tried the full lib posted by an active member, and its was amazing, but quite a lot of them felt like bloatware too( understandable, as its a complete set of rigs). And since im on mac, i cant even do the xdb thing. So just hoping for one of you lovely people to help however you can.

hi, ToneX db Explorer is installed in admin mode on my win10. I click on the icon that loads but nothing opens. With you the same problem?

 

It works fine for me. But I did not install it in Admin mode and I'm using Windows 11.
Also, if I close it and then reopen it. The programme opens where I left off with the same auther's name and profiles highlighted.
I can only suggest that you make sure that your Library file is where it is supposed to be and if you downloaded izn444nz's full Library file then the wording on it needs to be edited or else if will not open in Tonex, which means that it will most likely not open in Tonex db explorer.

 

What do you mean by sub library? One library db per username, like this http://peeplink.in/563b4bfb9052 ?

I think that using sqlite3 or sqlitebrowser to remove what's not marked as Favorite is easier as you can select what you want to keep from the Full Library.

 

Try this:
1. Search your computer for a file named "Library.db" in a directory named TONEX. You can use the Mac tools that lookups the entire drive.
2. Download one of the Library files in this thread.
3. Make a copy of your current found by Mac Library.db file as something like LibraryBKP.db, in case you need to restore it.
4. Overwrite your current Library.db file with one of the downloaded Library files (If it's LibraryFull.db, you need to rename it to Library.db)
5. Open Tonex, all models should be there.

It was created by copying the full library and removing everything that's not by 'IK Multimedia' and the target user from the db using sql.

Code:

> cp LibraryFull.db amalgamaudio.db
> sqlite3 amalgamaudio.db "delete from ToneModels where tag_username != 'IK Multimedia' and tag_username != 'amalgamaudio';"

If you have a list of users, this can be done in batch for every user.

 

I just downloaded your upload @izn444nz and what is the main difference between the 3 libraries? I have:

• amalgamaudio.db
• LibraryFull.db
• urzeir.db

The second is obvious, in that it's the full available library I presume, but what are the other two specifically?

Yes it must be renamed to library.db otherwise the program/plugin wont recognize it

Man, I have to advertise for Mike Hatalak's high gain profiles, they are INSANE. Every single one he posts is top tier, I strongly recommend checking these out. MH -EVH [...] and MH -5150 [...]

EDIT : Wait is it just me or did the profiles become infinitely better from the end of February ? I found the strength to go through every high gain Amp+Cab or Complex Rig profile, and my tick-the-yellow-star rate has grown up dramatically from this period until the 6th March
