Hi there

Wondered if anyone has come across this problem on PC (Windows10) which has happened to me recently. Been running Amplitube 5 (5.5.2 -R2R) which worked perfectly both in standalone and plugin through Reaper but from today for some reason it wont load.

Keep getting a pop up saying 'Amplitube 5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly' so I have to quit and close down. If I try to open the plugin in Reaper it causes Reaper to not work and shuts it down!

Ive uninstalled Amplitube fully, ran ccleaner, reinstalled (2 different versions also) but the same keeps happening. Maybe not the fault of Amplitube but something in Windows? Any ideas much appreciated?

if this pops up while scanning plugs, just DO NOT push the button "close program".
wait untill reaper is finished scanning!
Amplitube just need more time because of the size of it.

 

Did you install recently also TONEX?

The screenshot is from standalone mode but when I try to load the plugin via Reaper it just says 'Reaper isnt working' and closes down. It all worked fine, both standalone and via plugin, but then suddenly this problem started. Not sure if its a problem with Amplitube or something corrupted etc in Windows?

Done full uninstall with Revo, scanned etc, checked network, antvirus, firewall etc. Reinstalled fine, keygen worked fine but still wont open as above. Any ideas, its doing my head cos it worked fine when I first installed it?

 

did you have any other IK Multimedia sf installed?

 

Is your machine actively on the internet with ms update and AV enabled? If yes, drop the internet and disable all updates and AV. Reboot - uninstall the vst - clean - re-install the vst... If not, then check eventvwr application and security logs - is there any errors that points to a file being missing or perhaps some service stopping things from loading?

Ok so Ive just ran the event viewer which does indeed show faults specific to that application. It details the faulting module name as C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ig7icd64.dll which appears to be OpenGL driver for intel graphics accelerator! Feel like I might be getting somewhere now. Should I be able delete this or find another driver etc? Would deleting it cock evrything up? Sorry for my ignorance!

Since that file is part of the install for video hardware there's no telling what would happen by flat out disabling it. There are other such similar/varied instances of the phenomenon you are experiencing that can be found by googling that exact filename.

My suggestion at this point is twofold -
1. note the version number of that current .DLL somewhere for later reference. Try doing an update of your video drivers to the absolute LATEST and greatest. If you are down in revision on your video drivers and after you update them, recheck the version number of that .DLL file and make certain it has INCREASED in version. See if the problem persists...

2. if after #1. you still have the issue happening try renaming the ig7icd64.dll file to something like ig7icd64.dll.BAK and see how your system fares with that file temporarily out of the picture. Do a few system reboots and watch for anomalous behavior. If you are experiencing system weirdness after renaming that file I would stop there, rename the file BACK to the original name and contact intel for a solution. If all seems well system wise, try re-launching your app and see what happens.

Thanks very much for your advice, infact thanks to everyone's advice. Its sorted and working now both in standalone and vst through Reaper. My graphics adapter showed as Intel HD4000 using the above driver, so I ran the update and it changed to Intel HD3000 with a different driver. it appears that the OpenGL version associated with HD4000 and driver is insufficient to run Amplitube and various other software (games etc). Not sure why HD3000 verion is but nevermind, its working. Brilliant!
