I finally took the jump and this past week received a Polybrute in the post. I'm totally stoked with it and it's more fun than..anything that you might imagine. It's built like a brick shithouse with all the knobs and sliders solid as a rock with a nicer than expected keybed that allows paraphonic aftertouch. The keys are just slightly smaller than standard which doesn't feel cramped to my hands. The mod matrix is easy for me to negotiate (my great concern as my mind these dayz at times cannot grasp visual complexity, my mind unable to grasp seemingly simple concepts). The sound is sweet with two fine filters whose resonance doesn't cringe my ears unlike a goodly many soft synths that I've used. My only problem is now I've gas for a dedicated mono bass synth.

This is the first performance based try with the Polybrute. It is made up of two stereo tracks, the first the live performance of just over 5 minutes with the second being it reversed with the volume ridden and panned wider (using that newish free plugin Wider).

Nice, although I thought you already had a Sub 37 as a mono bass synth Lois ? However count me as being officially jealous of you new acquisition. just wish I had somewhere to put a new keyboard, and a good reason to explain to the wife why I actually need another one....hahahaha.

It's one of the most exciting polysynths for sure!

Thanks for listening and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I don't know if it can be 3D printed but maybe Arturia will clone it in software and the teams could crack it for the masses to use.

The thing is for me is the filters, the filters and the filters. Analogue filters can be just so creamy without irritating spiky resonance which hurt my aged tinnitus'd and frequency challenged ears. I tend toward using the Synapse Legend and various uHe vsti but even as good as they are they can't challenge the sweetness of a well built real world filter. The Polybrute does filters nicely and the mod matrix is the shit.

No Sub 37 here. Long ago I had a Kurzweil K2500XS and an Ensonique ESQ-1 but haven't had a hardware synth for over 25 years.

Just tell your wife that I have given you permission to buy one and that should take care of it...no problem.

that's why it's not 199.99 euro. :keys: if the BeringherBIGBrute comes out you won't be needing it so you will actually be saving 199 euro!! :metal:my bad behringer can also cost 800, so you saved up to 800 euro!! :like:

Hope to see (errr listen) more.

(software sounds great, love them, but the hands on experience of hardware takes our trips to another dimension )

Thanks, jennyblack. I'm sure that there'll be more music to share as it's opened my mind's eye in a new creative direction. Yup, software is a wonderful thing, and even if I map droves of vsti options to a midi controller and spin knobs and slip the sliders it still doesn't take me to that place. I feel emboldened.
