Zippyshare was hit and miss. I used it a long time ago and the links more than often tried to put a virus or bloatware onto my PC.
It unusually comes up forbidden hence I have not used it for years.
I would like to see Katfile go the same way as I find that the downloads fail to complete far too often.

 

For me Zippy was in every Single moment fast as Usain Bolt. And one of the only Free Hosters where One-Click started the Download.
Use Adblocker and Ghostery in Combination and such things won't appear on downloadsites i often found myself facing this problem with friends sending them an Link which is whitout Ads und Refers on my Laptop, but because they didn't use such tools they had this Problems.

 

using some hide ip maker also on line as hideip.co goes on zippyshare, only some bad po-up but t's possible to download at full speed for free (but too few zippy links here)

April fools or no?

 

If ever I wanted something to be an April Fool's Joke. It would be this.

It is sadly the end of an era!

Sadly no. There was talk about it closing down a couple of weeks ago

 

Why?

 

Non-issue for me. I always used RG instead for non-mp3 downloads, sister site, etc.

The only times I would use Zippy was for mp3s as electronic music DJ for quick & dirty downloads. But since I grew and only play my tracks now, I stopped needing Zippy. It sure happened to be useful back in the old days.

No there was a banner since some Time which told users to Backup their Data, because now everything is gone.

sad and unfortunate but life goes on and newer sharing services always there to replace our favorites. Zippy will be remembered for a long time as one of the best.

 

APRIL FOOLS?

 

It is just one of those things. I've been using these types of hosting sites since the 90s and when one goes down another one pop up.I have been using adblock for a while. But not back in the day.

 

i Started in 1999 but at this Time it was more P2P, FTP, Usenet & Torrenting. Think DDL started to get big in like 2002-2003 with RapidShare if i recall it correctly from my brain.
