About saving stuff, I developed a tic, everytime I'm working with Word, FL Studio or any other applications where CTRL+S is save, I press it every 30 seconds, it becomes automatic, even now that I'm writing this post I have to resist the urge to press it...

If you don't have it in 3 places, then you don't have it at all.
    Learned this the hard way.

As others have said, I always back up twice to two different SSD's and they are kept offline.

Network attached storage. Normally a box with a bunch of hard drives configured as a single partion.

I need a better backup system myself but storage is expensive.

I remmember it was either Junkie XL or Hans Zimmer that had a pc in the back always on to backup things and power his Kontakt sessions so that things were always loaded up ready to go for his ideas without loadup times. Is what you explained sort of like that? Or have I understood you wrong? Sorry I'm kind of a noob at all this backup business.

Could you link me a pic or something to see what you mean? Is there an automatic backup going to multiple drives at all times or what?

P.S.: What you saw in the background of Junkie XL was his server.

    Incremental backup
An incremental backup is a type of backup that only backs up the files that have changed since the last backup. So if a full backup was made on the month, the incremental backup on Tuesday will only include files changed since Monday. The backup on Wednesday, in turn, will only include changes since Tuesday, and so on.

The main advantage of incremental backups is that fewer files need to be backed up per day, which reduces the backup windows. The disadvantage is that a full restore requires the most recent full backup and all incremental backups since its creation to be restored, which can take a very long time. With differential backups, on the other hand, all changes since the most recent full backup are always backed up.

Thanks for the reply, sorry I forget a lotta stuff easily so I forgot to respond.
So how does this work? It back ups your hard drive as new changes are made overwriting old changes then it uses a server to update those files to a separate PC? Then you use that PC to dump updates to like 3 other hard drives just incase?

Sorry, I never set up a server so idk how any of this would actually be put into practice in reality. It just looked like the holy grail of updating your HD but also looked very expensive.

@BagelShaggerz Check Nextcloud for building your own cloud storage. It works basically with any old machine with 256MB ram.
I´m currently setting up this (still need few part for it). I even bought PCIE->8 SATA card for more drives to connect.
    Ubuntu is recommended for Nextcloud
Install nextcloud on Linux | Snap Store (snapcraft.io)
