  1. Hello

I am just setting up a new Mac (M1) and I am wondering why I am suddenly able to add Waves effects as an instrument...it has never done this before

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Depending on the bundle you install, there are plugins that function as instruments which you might have installed. Like Codex, as example.

there are a quite bunch of waves plugins that can be controlled via midi. so in your instrument track you have the "real" instruments and there's another folder called something like AU Midi controlled effects.

Yes, it is called "Au Midi Controlled Effects". It's a different menu item under instrument.

if you wanna midi control one of these plugs, you need to open a instrument channel. it can't be done with an audio channel afaik.
