What I have been doing is going to the TONEX presets sharing community page and using the filter on the right to pick out the most popular amps. I then copy and past the name of each one into the TONEX search bar. It takes me about thirty minutes to search all of the amps and Mark them out as my favourites. I do this every time Roger drops a new update, The last time I checked Paul Drew's Matchless amp was in the number one spot with the most votes. I also searched SDS in TONEX for Sonic drive studios. It also works for other uploaders.

My only worry is that eventually we end up with so many profiles that TONEX will take 15 to thirty minutes to load up. When that time comes I guess that the SQ method will be the way to go. So I have put TONEX on an old laptop so that I can try out the other methods without messing with the copy of TONEX that is on my newer laptop.

Thanks a lot for your reply :) Is there a video tutorial about it? I haven't been able to find anything on Youtube unfortunately :(

    Better check the manual.
Most videos only show ToneX Capture interface and real amps.
    Not "virtual" capture.

I use DB Browser for SQLite to search for a specific profiler. Just load the TONEX Library.db file up, browse the ToneModels table and search for the profiler in the Tag_UserName column.

Is there a way to search "by users" like amalgam when offline ?
[EDIT] Found how to with ToneX db explorer.
But it's not easy to manage the library,
deleting easily and keeping a customed library is impossible.
What is the "image cache" for and how to use it ?
    Thank you

Tonex pedal arrived today after 2 delays for a holiday and a major snowstorm.
Poor thing was cold, minus 25C outside with -34 windchill.
Warmed it up and plugged in.
Got to the fourth preset, 1.505 1 and after adjusting the noise gate and presence have been ripping.
    The sustain is incredible.
If I can find a few more presets like this, I'm happy.
Am looking forward to capturing my EVH Iconic Combo.
Hopefully this provokes other dev's to provide some decent competition.
They've been sitting comfortably on their laurels too long.
Hear me Kemper and Neural Systems:bleh::rofl:

For anyone who doesn't want to wait forever to load more than 7000 captures, this is what I did:

-First I downloaded the biggest library.db file from this forum. Opened it in Tonex, and marked all as favorite which I liked.

-Then, I moved this Library.db to a secure location and opened tonex again, without a library file present. Now tonex will create the smallest library.db possible (about 17 mB)

-then.. I opened both databases with sqlite db browser (get the link from this forum.)

-browse to ->Browse Data -> Table: ToneModels

    upload_2023-2-23_9-1-50.png

and scroll to the right until you see the Favorite header. Filter for 1 and you get all your marked models.

    upload_2023-2-23_9-1-28.png

    Remember how much there are:

    upload_2023-2-23_9-2-34.png

    (6 in my case)

select the whole row by clicking on the number and shift click on the latest number

    upload_2023-2-23_9-4-32.png

right click on the selected and choose Copy

---Now.. Go to your fresh database and also go to the tone models table: -> Browse data -Table: Tone models

Add as much new rows in this table as favorites you have

    upload_2023-2-23_9-8-17.png

Now, select the very first field of the newly created rows, right click on it, choose paste, ignore the warning message about the size of the data and.. There you go.

Don;t forget to write the changes (file -> write changes)

If you open Tonex again, it's still fast, and it only contains stuff you want.

I was temped by the pedal but after a think I realized that I would be wasting my money since I'm not playing live and the software and other plugins, plus my HX Stomp are enough for me to be going on with for now. I guess that I'm waiting for the next big breakthrough which I think will be coming sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I'm about the same. I have HX Stomp too and a lot of times I can replicate other amp sims tones with it easily plus, it has very good FX. For desk/studio/home use, the software (Tonex, Helix Native, plugins) in general, just works. I keep the pedal for when I want to play without looking at the computer, which often leads to more playing and less tweaking.

I just noticed this which may shed some light into some mixed opinions about high gain profiles. From the v1.1.1 changelog:
    "TONEX MODELER
Fixed an issue that could give inaccurate results when modeling High Gain Amplifiers or Stomps."

    Perhaps is unrelated.

If it affected High gain amps it could affect everything?
Then.. ppl wil have to remake the captures, and it will be 14K?? :suicide:

Good to hear there's improvement tho..

Like many others here I own a hardware amp sim (Headrush MX-5) and love it and have many of my own patches programmed.
The Tonex pedal is an entirely different beast and sounds quite different.
I'm going to make some amp-free MX-5 patches with F/X only to use in conjunction with the Tonex.
The point is to avoid having to be chained to a computer. I want to dance:)
Reminds me of the Alan King joke:
"I shouldn't make fun of my wife. She's chained to a 300 pound electrical device that keeps her alive. The refrigerator."
And if you can't afford the money to throw at this pedal until a more advanced iteration occurs, please don't say the grapes were probably sour anyway (Aesop).

I did that but the new stuff is greyed out and it's telling me that I need to upgrade to Tonex Max
    :(

EDIT: My mistake - I included the IK premium models as my favourites. Don't do this!

PSA: the tables are different between the new database [1.1.2 from the sister site] and the one Tonex creates if you remove the database as per Barbatron's method - so copying the whole list won't work. What worked for me was copying each column at a time and pasting it over. There might be a way to rearrange the coulms so they match but my computer skills aren't up to figuring that out :)

Let's hope IK will propose an easy tool to manage library soon.

I noticed some tones models have no Amp skin. Select any of them -> crash.

I guess it has something to do with 1.10 Update as this update adds new amp skins.

Has anyone succeeded updating to 1.10 on mac and using R2R "utility" ?
