I provided the AudioZ Crackers with a licensed file of some software.

Soon a crack of that software was released.

And within half a day, I received an email from the developer of the software.

"We have identified that you leaked the license of CRACK."

I fearfully checked the serial of the Crack ver. license and it was not my legitimate serial.

Would Interpol come to my house?

Would I receive a bill for a huge amount of compensation?

I just wanted to share my wonderful software with everyone, including those who can't pay for it.

    I am frightened.

Provide ANY real info and we may help you.
BUT you didn't provided developer and/or software name ... so for now i will simply ignore you.

Anybody can post this as first post ... even a dev

Side note : leaked licences happen ... AND NO, you are not responsible if someone "steal" a licence (if you see what i mean).

Like i'm not responsible if someone steal my car and hit someone with it. Or steal my weapon and kill someone.
But of course, i will loose my car and weapon anyway ...

Licences and account will be lost. But i don't see how devs could suit you. Until YOU provide proofs ... against yourself.

That's not so easy to prosecute you. Don't be affraid.

Im not sure that treating this in public is a good idea, though.
I sent you a PM to help you.

You will certainly be detained and questioned by Interpol for impersonating a member in good standing @audiosex.pro. They will flog you with wet noodles, coat your body with honey and molasses and let keygens lick it off of your genitals until you die the horrible death of warezgasm, that is unless you confess. Though if you do you will spend the next 3 years locked in a small square cell with Foster who will talk your ear off until you'll wish that you were dead.

Nothing burger...nothing will happen. You will just loose your right to use legit software... If someone prosecutes you, and if they make a claim, the proof is on them. They must prove that you released it on purpose, so remove any email or PM that you had with cracker, and don't post anymore detail here....that is just plain stupid...but as the saying goes: if you are stupid enough, you have yourself to blame....

the question is, was the software watermarked. sometimes software is watermarked and still needs a license file.

Other idea, maybe they did send this mail to other costumers too? just to get a confession and find out who leaked it?

Some developers could get really mad at this and think every download equals one sale, which is absurd, because we are all hoarders here :disco:
    Hope Oly could help you.

To me this looks like a distraction from the real problems in this world. We had ufo's and now a
stolen license....... What's next? Manmade climate change?

You should be careful talking these things on a public forum.

Just like the other dude, who rants about his crimes on Troth Central and delivers evidence after evidence about his own crimes.

I'd argue you are responsible for not sharing your licenses and guns with others,
in both cases, it can be confiscated from you (and invalidated) if you do so,

devs hide all sorts of checks in their softwares, and honestly I think it's cool if they do contact you such way, because it means they value you as a customer and warn you about potential theft - in basically same way you get emails about stolen/breached passwords of online accounts and services - in which case you are advised to change your passwords, invalidate current licenses etc... with leaked licenses it happens often devs blacklist it in next product releases, it's a good precaution and safety measure,

on the other hand, it would be hard if not impossible for devs to actually prove you intentionally passed the license and it was not stolen from you, it could actually lead to security audit of devs to prove they keep their customer data and licenses safe from security breaches and all sorts of other nasty things, I don't think (and that's just my opinion) it would be worth it for devs to go through
