On gearspace found a November 2022 post where said Dave Gamble (DMGAudio) helps Xfer Records with some code/DSP for upcoming Serum 2..
Also some hints about TrackWarmth (working name), and might be some TrackComp2 new compressors models. No ETA, official TBA, release dates yet... Only some DMG's words).
    Some cool stuff soon?)

With all the fancy coding, I hope they fix the damned database handling (rescan entire database after one change?) and weak browser.

Yeah the browser desperately needs a makeover. I mean, it's not like they haven't made enough money to figure these problems out. lmfao

Serum's filter was by Cytomic, the reverb by Togu Audio Line, I'm guessing DMG will be asked to make/improve the compressor or EQ inside Serum 2. Even better, a remake of OTT that smash harder but sound better than a vintage Fairchild. JK

A toroidal moment is an independent term in the multipole expansion of electromagnetic fields besides magnetic and electric multipoles. In the electrostatic multipole expansion, all charge and current distributions can be expanded into a complete set of electric and magnetic multipole coefficients.
    Simple as that.

I love DMG Audio, its like Fabfilter to me, I can't live without TrackComp, TrackLimit and Limitless. Honestly, brilliant DSP. Can't wait for this!

It seems it is. I looked up Dave's answers on gs and even though he confirmed that he works on those, there weren't any betas and screenshots.

By the way, he works not only on Track version of saturator, but he also makes a big brother version that, from his own words, shoud be something like Multiplicity but for saturation.

Dave will have a hard time trying to beat modern saturators like Kelvin, Spectre, True Iron, Saturn, etc... DMG plugins are top notch but i really doubt there will be something gamechanging coming. At least for the price of the plugins and DSP, my expectations are quite huge for what i believe it will actually come out. If it's like trackcomp format (where you choose different units) it will be boring IMO.

Out of 4 units you've mentioned only Iron sounds reasonable. It's especially true for Saturn that sounds like a plastic, and I believe the only reason it's relatively popular is people who use it on already heavily heated signals(primarily sounds recorded with lots of transformers in a recording chain).

But I agree in regard of anticipation. Software saturation in general is a very questionable thing: even though plugins have made a huge progress in the last ~10 years, there's nothing that sounds as good as Neve's Silk/Iron for example, and if I had to choose, I would pick Neve's transformers(or any units with the same impact) over literally all software saturators combined.
While many other types of effects were succefully re-created in digital(DMG itself is a great example for this), there's something about analog saturation(and sometimes compressors) that still stands out and the difference is so apparent that you won't have to have an argument with anyone, it's just immediately hits you(it's especially true in cases of saturation being used as a mean of increasing perceived loudness without increasing levels of picks).

So, considering how Dave was describing his saturation(he did it on gearslutz), where he said that "it brings smile onto my face", I hope he really did it. Besides, his TrackComp units sound amazing and I think Zener part of it sounds really good for grindy saturation.

By the way, it's been a lot of time since he kind of announced it, I wonder when will he finally release it...

Serum is great but the filters/FX are subpar compared to almost any other synth (cramping for example). Dave knows lots about filtering & FX so I'm very excited about Serum V2 (if it ever gets released in my lifetime)

TrackComp already has some of the best emulations of analog gear so V3 will surely be great, along with TrackWarmth.

Yeah, I have a thread here, where I quoted Dave Gamble about new models for TrackComp3. It is still not released, a la official rumours, not implemented yet.. Hope)

    Some models he talked about:
    - 33609 (Neve 33609, a British discrete Class A precision stereo comp-limiter)
    - RED3 (Focusrite RED3, a vca compressor-limiter)
    - 670 (Fairchild 670, a vintage tube compressor-limiter, stereo version)
    - LA3A (a solid-state version of tube LA2A opto compressor, a classic levelling amplifier)
    - Sta-level (a tube compressor... don't know, maybe Gates Sta-level from 1956 or a modern replica by Retro Instruments, but probably it might be an original)

Notice, this quote from gearslutz was posted by me here on audiosex:

Ooh a diode bridge compressor & 2 new tube compressors would be interesting. Zener is already a diode bridge compressor but it'd be cool to compare the 2 using the same modelling techniques.
