    Hi!
Been fairly surprised to see quite a few comments in the sister place about having problems with Kontakt releases. It seems like there's always some kind of issue with this software, which is too bad because it's so important in the current music software landscape.

I wanted to ask which version of Kontakt Portable has been known, by both your personal experience and that of others, to be particularly stable and well working? I can remember reading a few comments about this back in the early 6.x days, that some versions had glitches and some later ones worked better. I'm not super keen on getting the very latest one, would just like to know which older versions, possibly 6.x, are known to work reliably well. From what I can read, both 7.x releases seem to have some problems, but I'm not sure.

Same question would go for Bobdule and R2R releases if you have the info.

    Thanks!

All of them. Literally, I've never had ever problem that I wouldn't have had with regular Kontakt. I'm currently running both 6.0.2 and 7.1.6 with very little problems. Version 7 had a somewhat large and blurry gui, and there's one library I have where the gui comes out white.

As Majestic said all versions worked nicely till now. As for my opinion v6.6 Portable by VK Danilov is very stable. Still not tested the newer ones as I run an old maschine with Win7 OS.

As regard R2R and Bob Dule Kontakt versions both are fine. The main difference is R2R version works like legit version and does not detect modified or self made libraries whereas Bob Dule version detects any libraries irrespective of their legitimacy provided they are compatible with the said version.

In VK Danilov portable ones all the heav weight lifting is done by "Manage Libraries" tab/tool. You search for any library and Just add them ( Use own wallpaper if you wish). Just.... Add,... Load and you are good to go...
Doesn't matter if its a Kontakt full library or Kontakt Player library....

BTW at present I am using Kontakt 6.7 Portable by VK Danilov. Never experienced any glitch or crash and all compatible version libraries I have loads just fine. If you are enquiring of CPU or Ram usage I can't be specific...

I loaded my portable using the GUI Tweaker in the "Help" folder and choosing "Warp".
All the others seemed blurry, but that one is almost as sharp as Kontakt 6.
Installed Kontakt 7 is still blurry, but my portable Kontakt 7 keeps the "Warp" setting.
Another nice aspect of using portable, I guess.

I have an Nvidia Gforce 1060 on Win10

Hey, thank you for the replies and for the information.
Looks like the portable versions seem to be fairly stable throughout.
I was just going by the comments on the release posts on the other site, where some people were having various issues. When I see that kind of stuff I never know how seriously I should consider that.

I'm just grateful for any k'd version to exist considering how important Kontakt is.

    Thank you!
