US The 1974 Synthesizer Expander Module

Alex Ball is back with another video; so strap yourself in for another expertly-researched, presented, and demonstrated feature looking at the Oberheim Synthesizer Expander Module (1974) and Two Voice (1975).

He details the connection to E-MU Systems who provided the digital scanning keyboard and the SEM VCOs from Dave Rossum. You'll also hear about Jim Cooper, who designed the circuitry for the SEM, later becoming the chief Engineer at Oberheim - and of course Tom Oberheim himself. Superb stuff!

I would like to reveal the biggest secret of moog synths...why my behringer MODEL D is much better than the 2000+ expensive synths:
Get ready...
Imagine buying a moog MODEL D Reissue or the original one...for £5200...than finding out: THERE'S NO SINE WAVE on the MODEL D

Now here comes the behringer MODEL D for only the fraction of the price I bought mine for £225 & I bought patch cables to connect the 1st OSCillator to the Filter Contour...and tadaaaam you can make sine wave with the behringer you just simply can not make sine wave on the original moogs nobody knows this I think
And I'm able to make my own kicks or 808 kicks (yes no joke on a behringer MODEL D) just by watching tutorials and patching with 2 cables
So awesome

I was lucky enough to catch that Plugin Alliance free bundle so I have that version of the OB & sounds god damn cool

Same, I don't like PA bx_oberhausen (don't complaint, I've got it for free).
Perhaps Arturia SEM V2 is better?
I'm using Eight Voice (by Cherry Audio) and I'm enjoyed about it. Perhaps the emulation isn't 100% accurate (I don't known) but I love sounds.

Not only he's able to play old gear as he breathes, but is a synth history expert, exquisite mixture.

One thing that I can't take for granted but I read somewhere is that SEM was used too for the Annihilation OST.
IF it's true, I guess it could be recognizable in the "alien fight" end scene.
