I'm gonna make a One knob make-it-goodizer and call it SMART ANALOG AI GOD.
There will be a 20$ optional upgrade to have Elon Musk's face on the knob.

It is your personal opinion indeed. I generally do not want my EQ doing Saturation tasks, when I could use any Saturation processor I want separately. It doesn't have the auto-suggestions like ProQ3, but I doubt that's an issue for you. Have you put Kirchhoff into a 96KHZ session set to FFT and 117bit to test it? I'm thinking not. I love Pro-Q3 and DSEQ, and Nova. Kirchhoff is a smoking addition to them. My suspicion is that you did not give it any time to find its' usefulness.

    and that's a fair view,
me, I try to minimize and streamline my plugins sack, heck I'm not even confident about using Pro-Q3 and NOVA to their full potentials, so maybe that's why having another, although capable EQ to justify its addition for me (yet) and call it "best" in accordance to this thread title

I used to think like this. But two different beasts, each one with it's advantages. But it really depends on how you work or what you want from those EQ's.

For the curves, analog behaviour and tone i go for Equilibrium
For solving especific tasks (with style) i go for kirchhoff

I figure it out like an virtual assistant that make boring tasks for me. I can tweak a compressor and limiter, but what can i do if the machine does it better and faster than me? Because in general never sounds "wrong". It's not like ozone or neutron, which add hundreds of modules. They just figure the best calibration for the material in that moment. I think it's cool.

Saturation is cheap. You can even put some Airwindows "analogfiers" after those morbid, lifeless, dull, linear digital EQ's. And since kirchhoff has a lot of different "devices" you can use your imagination to make a killer signal flow with it

ah I guess that's another point of view, if you find audio manipulation boring, then you can hire a real engineer or use AI plugins, yes, can't argue about that,

cheap? take a look at Wavesfactory Spectre, which is EQ-based saturation, or Fabfilter Volcano 3 which is also filter/EQ saturation,
IF Kirchhoff could do that, I'd grab it and use it, but it doesn't,
if I can use tons of other plugins combined to achieve "same" thing, then is Kirchhoff that much more convenient?

When I am bouncing stems, I will frequently set my chain up as 1) channel eq 2) saturation 3)subtractive eq 4) compression 5) additive EQ
Sometimes with Logic Vintage whatever, then the Saturn2 instance, then proq3, then proc2, then proq3 again. Then pro-MB or perhaps Pro-DS to handle the compression artifacts I might cause, and then pro-L2 or Stealth. If those are the plugins available on the system.

Sometimes I want none of this madness and stick Kirchhoff on there. If you turn off the 117 FFT, it is surprisingly light on cpu.

I guess I will have to try all the other mentions. Woe is me. :winker:

I've narrowed my picks down to a Top Three, all of which have become go-to plugins that make me happy.
In no particular order: Kazrog's True 252 EQ, NEOLD's U17 Compressor, and Fuse Audio Labs VREV-305 Spring Reverb. :shalom:

You know, that was the codename for Ray Kurzweil's successor to the K2xxx series before he left synths behind and dove headfirst into the deep end.

This EQ is sooo cool! It's the langevin graph eq emu, that was the predecessor of the Motown EQ. Motown EQ's were modified langevins with more bands. A lot of hype on "motor city eq" but no one knows what it's in fact the langevin sound (acording to Bob Olhsson). Lot's of companies and devs seeking that holy grail sound, nailing different bandwiths and thd, when, in fact, this is the closest to the TRUE motown eq. Kazrog is a company that works the right way, True Iron and True Dynamics are the proof of what im saying.
