It's fine. Just a good-willed joke . I rated "funny" your first "yawn" emoji because I agree majority of comments weren't what you asked.
FWIW I always recommend "Total Uninstall". Really powerful whether you have monitored the installation or not.

Lastly, I use masterdesk and some of the guitar stuff, like shredspread and some individual ampsims.

    Hi! Guest

To add my own contribution to the thread, I've been using the Kirchhoff EQ (not from this PA bundle) and I must say, I like it! Its very fast, has some easily accessible unique and comprehensive features, sounds most excellent on everything and uses virtually no CPU. This could easily be my go to utility and creative EQ. Very impressed with it!

For reference, my favorite EQ is Equilibrium, and while that still has the extra special magic touch to it that no other ITB EQ does, it can become a CPU latency inducing hog if used all over the place. Sound wise, this is very near that level IMVHO, and can take over track and group bus EQ duties, leaving Equilibrium to the master bus.

I am surprised not many people are mentioning the SHMC plugins from this bundle. Then again, I was just reading on another forum how it tends to cause issues with rolling off mid-high freqs requiring additional EQ'ing to correct it. Not ideal. Another case of plugin looks the shit but isn't even close to the hardware? I'll find out soon enough.

Are the instrument emu plugins (which I think total around 10GB of this 15GB bundle) total garbage as someone suggested? I watched a couple of video demos that sounded just OK, not my style of music and drenched in effects so kinda hard to tell. I play the real instruments anyway, but its nice to have ITB options for fast demo purposes and/or creative sound design.

There are a few other names I keep seeing pop up so my short list to demo is coming together. Thanks for the input fellas

my assumption is that maybe, just maybe, that's how the compressors actually might work, given the fact that plugin alliance is the only company that is officially working with shadow hills industries and probably had access to the eschematics or something (or the very same shadow hills developed the plugins for them... at least the original mastering compressor

IME its a very rare case when a plugin totally nails the hardware counterpart, especially when talking high end analog mixing/mastering hardware. Because its SH endorsed I thought it might be one of those times. Do the benefits far outweigh the extra plugins and work needed for corrections? If indeed it does have that special sauce, thats the only way I would even bother with it.

Same here. Equilibrium is an EQ that is really far beyond anything, and my favorite In the box EQ. But kirchhoff is quite different in a way i can use both in the same work for different things. I like modeling units with the tweaking capabilities of Equilibrium, so i can get the tone that's in my mind, while i can use kirchhoff to be more especific (and use the analog curves and phase for that, why not?). It's a Pro Q with steroids, but i don't consider it PA also, IDK why.

For me, each plugin has its own nuance.

OH and another pro tip (as if ), I used to use SPL Transient designer, but once I discovered Kilohearts I immediately switched. Less harsh, more features and control, better sound results. If you haven't already, try it out!

Yesterday i posted about those EQ's. I just passed and forgot about them. The Amek 200 is a GML 8200 emu, that's pretty solid i must confess. But i put it against Equilibrium 8.2K preset (Analog Phase, Peaks and Shelves parallel) and it totally smashed the bx one. No TMT can give the analog weight that has on Equilibrium's IR. The only advantage of the bx over DMG the saturation (but those units are quite silent and undistorted in real life, so i don't miss it that much)

I also have a Sontec 250 preset on Equilibrium (AMEK 250) and put both against each other. For me the bx won this match, becacuse Sontecs have a bit more grit, but i wouldn't spend my money on this one if you already have Equilibrium, just buy some good HiFi saturator instead.

All in good fun mate :hifive:

For those who didn't get it (as clearly someone didn't), was a reference to the song "It's My Party".....

According to PA, it's not. It's more like an assembly of the 8200 and something Sontec, but the way they describe it it's hard for me to tell if they tried to combine both or just used those as reference and did their own thing.

Don't know if it's just the TMT, PA analog emulations just suck as analog emulations. But they kind of try, are light on the CPU, are cheap (with some basic vouchers and patience you can get two plugins for around 10$-20$), and are better than nothing i guess.

Most interesting plugin for me is Unfiltered Audio Lion.
I wanted to buy it, but as I can't stand the authority scheme I didn't, until R2R cracked it. Now I own it, but will use R2R version.
It's one of the few really original synth, it have very "personal" sound and a lot of possibilities. Very open design so you can create your own synth.
    I love it.
