Hello, computer experts, is there any way to track/trace someone, who you know spams you everyday, I know its hard if they have VPN/IP scramble/Hide. But when you know it's someone who you know because of the various spam topics & is personal. any advice? i can get ip addresses but had no luck tracing.

It depends on what goal you are pursuing.

If you want to prosecute the person legally, it is not easy. There are private investigators who specialize in this. But that costs money, of course. Using a virus yourself can be a crime, depending on the legislation. So only conditionally recommendable.

If you want to avoid SPAM for the future, there is a simple but effective solution:
You only need one real mailbox and the possibility to set up aliases(forwarders) for it.
I never use my real mail address to register anywhere. Instead I only use forwarders (aliases). If my mail address were [email protected], an address for use with Amazon would be [email protected] that forwards to [email protected]. If I get SPAM on this address, I a) know that Amazon has sold my data and I simply delete the forwarding. This breaks the connection to my real mailbox. And I could prove to Amazon that they have forwarded my data (which is actually not the case!)
Ever since I do it this way, I have practically no SPAM occurrence (1x per quarter maybe).
So SPAM does not even reach my mailbox and I have no need for SPAM folders or something and its free because mos

depends on how they are spamming you, emails always have the IP adres of the sender in them (somewhere in the coding) but as you said yourself, if they are using a vpn there isnt much you can do probably. you could try to google the ip adres and find the company and forward the spam to them. maybe they can see in the coding which of their users is doing it but that's just guessing. and even if they can find out the spammer can easily find a dif vpn.

if on some social media, all you can do is report them every time i guess.

most "Spammers" are using Bulk Mailer programs. Some use CGI (common gateway interface), or more interesting unrated methods like WAPmail or use TOR. Any IP adress you can derive from an email will be nothing but a rabbit hole.

always remember to attach a bungeecord or climbingropegearstuff before diving into a rabbit hole, people tend to forget that, get stuck in there and end up believing the earth is flat and such

having some experience with rabbit holes i decided to take the dive (after having my bungeecord safely attached) and just google the ip-adress and this is what i found very easily:
it is a vpn in moscow so chances are that reporting it wont make a difference but it is possible!

If some fool wants to waste a life target-spamming ex-lovers, (ex)friends, aquantances etc., i would recommend you ignore the infantile spite and instead hold sympathy for those who suffer under such wretched compulsion - 'cos at best (in real terms) it's only a minor inconvenience for their 'victim'(s) anyway.

Oh, and in case you haven't, you could also check through your email filter settings, to see if you can't tighten 'em up in light of this situation.

i'm rather curious to the content of the emails, are they threats, bullying or something like that?

Probably blackmail and some bitcoin link. Maybe OP might think it's personal because they will type up or copy paste some crafty messages. I got one watching porn and what great taste I have and all this shit when I don't even watch the shit so I watched this shit fill up my inbox for 2 months.

They kept on with their "we wont send the links of the videos we pulled from your webcam of you wanking if you j-just givem me a littol dollar, cause a dollar is what I need" when I don't even have one of those either. The webcam or a dollar, just to be clear. I'm really a poor motherfucker. Truly. Even if I was richer than a bitch wanking into my webcam, I still can't help ya buddy. Sorry.

When they have exhausted all methods of trying to bait me to click on thieir links or fill their bitcoin inbox when I would not reply at all, I'm sure they just went onto somebody else since time scammed=money to them fools. They would come from different email adresses too with the same type of content, often repeating itself like as if they forgot they sent that copy pasta to me already and not the other guy they are also trying to scam simultaneously.

I'm glad I knew better, but the content of their scams might sound real at first and might make some sucker out there panic then fall for it, otherwise why would these scams exist? @Uprock I would just let them run on their hamster wheel until the hinges fall off. Waste their time, don't let them waste yours. Just ignore it like you don't even check that email account anymore.

Better to use Gmail. I use various email services for free email addresses to use as spam boxes. The only purpose of them is for signing up for free things like plugins, samples, etc. My normal spam box is constantly flooded with junk. But that is it's only reason to exist. This sounds more like Phishing.

I have a few gmails as spam boxes, too; and none of them get all this junk. When Google advertise how much spam they really block, it's no joke. They really do what they advertise.

I only use the term "Spam" in reference to "Junk Mail". It can be anything. If it is someone you know, that is more like Spear Phishing. Usually this is only 1 step more highly technical, than just asking for some form of credentials aka username:password pair. But, it could also be something much more nasty. Like a 3kbs Thing server wrapped into some kind of mhtml exploit that automatically downloads and executes such 3kbs upload server. just as quickly as the user clicks a link. (older example).

    ahh windows....
