My sung vowels Ah, Eh, Ee sound somehow “flat”, nasal or thin. I don’t like their timbre. The Oh sounds better and the lowest Oo is much better, thicker.
What do you recommend for mixing this? EQ, saturator or any “fattener”?

Apart from mixing, do any physical exercises exist for improving the timbre of our voices?

Make sure you're using your diaphragm while singing. If it's nasal, pinch your nose and make the sound. You're too nasal if you notice a change while pinching your nose. It shouldn't affect your vowels unless you make "n" or "m" sounds. Also, a good exercise is doing Ah, Eh, Ee, Oh, Oo all together (Like Ahhh - Ehh - Eee - Ohhh - Oooo on the same note and breath), and there shouldn't be any major changes in tone or timbre with proper technique

You're Oh and Oo sounds better because seemingly would have more "body" to the sound. I suspect when you make the other vowels, you're using too much of your throat and they end up sounding thin.

Gigging? Traditionally this is where most musicians and vocalists perfect their craft!

Make them emotional... 'Cry' the head voice vowels with the top of your diaphragm and 'moan' the chest voice. Get into those states of mind and express the notes with those emotions instead of trying to sing them. Once you have the notes with the emotions dial back the emotion a bit and you should have some more power

Pick up something and shake it as hard as you can to get your emotions woken up. Don't forget to breathe well, from the diaphragm and make it emotional

Also try shaping your mouth in different ways for tones

@Colin Not gigging. Just try to sing my lyrics and fit them into my track. The melody is already found BUT … the timbre of my voice sounds not that bad…partly…the long vowels need more steroids.

@executioner Exactly as you said, I “sing” using my throat and not the chest or diaphragm. The mentioned vowels are thin in contrary to Oo. Thank you for identifying my problem.

I can guarentee that if you do a lot of shows doing whatever it is you do, your voice will become a lot stronger and you will figure out how to use it properly. You might also figure out a lot of other stuff too you'd never thought about! ;)

There are no shortcuts. You need to put the work in if you want to see results.

Also, if it's to enunciate better, you could look into elocution lessons.

    Good luck!

just a note about uing your diaphragm. Yes, you should.

However, if you don't know what you are doing and don't have it figured out properly, you can quite easily do a lot of damage (even long term) to your vocal chords.

Hi, better is subjective. What are your goals? Is it control? Stretching your range? Projection? Tone? Flexibility? There are a ton of aspects to get better at but it depends on what you want right now otherwise you can easily get overwhelmed. Give me an idea of where you want to end up in 1-2 months and I might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Also, we can't hear your voice so any problems you have is up to you to really find out, which is difficult, so do record yourself often if you want to discern these issues yourself.

@Zenarcist Copy?? I can mimic the moves of his mouth :) at the moment.

@executioner At my stage of singing I even don’t know what I don’t know. You question has already overwhelmed me.
    Control, tone, flexibility- yes. Whatever…

He's got an average voice with an authentic delivery that's being channelling from the inside, I'd definitely be learning from this dude
