Hi everyone,

I'm turning to you because you're my only family on the internets.

So there's this website that publishes unauthorised intimate videos of mostly women and one of them is a close friend of mine that attempted to end her life because of this.

We live in a really conservative third world country and women are already subjected to discriminations so being exposed like this is socially devastating as nobody can recover from that.

The website also exposes LGBTQ people and in a mostly muslim country, that basically a death sentence. And last but not least, a lot of people exposed on that website are under age.

Needless to say that local authorities don't care and when my friend try to reported them to the police the just slut shamed her and told her there's nothing they can do about it.

I really don't know what to do so if anybody knows the fastest/most effective to take the website down, it would help a lot.

Best you could do is report it to who ever is hosting the site. If there's illegal content, they'll handle it. You can just do a google search to find out how you can find a site's webhost.

Not to sound condescending or anything like that, but this is just general advice on the internet, never put anything there you're not willing to own. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people post things, then immediately regret it. And another good rule, if you post nudes, never ever include anything that easily identifies you.

Then try to find out if there's an abuse form on the hosters website.

Thank you, i've found the website host but they're located in a country that won't do nothing about it.

Just to clarify, in this case it's the ex-boyfriend of my friend that leaked the nudes.

I dont believe they host the site without any ISP.

 

I cant think of any place that would openly allow child porn under any circumstances and in most places punishments are extreme.. I'd focus on reporting that to any and all powers that be to get the whole site taken down and the owner/operators and patrons along with it.

DMCA exists for this purpose (among other reasons)... although the DIY route might not have the impact they're looking for... but I'd start with that. Have they/you tried that route yet? I think that's the most effective way, but it's not free though.

Also, you can similarly remove them form Google searches.. not helpful enough, but it's a step, and free and will help limit the site being found by people (and then you'd also want to cover other search engines):

They also may be able to take legal action in their country, if they know who stole/posted the content. That probably won't be a very fun process though, and will be costly, I'm sure. Also, it might result in exposing your friend a bit, which is the opposite of what they want, of course.

I'm afraid this case is very different. They don't need porn to oppress, something much lighter is enough for them.

 

And this in general as you say. It would seem so evident, like a golden-iron-clad rule born of common sense.

I really, really find it amazing that you're taking steps, reaching out to try and help them. That shows the type of person that you are. If only there were more people like that. This sort of sick, vile, disgusting, and outright fucking cuntish behaviour wouldn't happen.

I truly do feel for your friend, and that someone is able to provide you with the steps to get this taken done.

It truly is fucking disgusting the lengths that some people will go to to try and destroy someone else's life.

I truly do hope that your friend can find some sort of peace, and be able to move on from this.

 

I feel the same way I would never advice anyone to do this.
Things can easily get out of hand and what gets uploaded to the internet stays on the internet no matter what.
You can try to DMCA's etc. but sadly such websites often operate on a level were they are used to handling such situations.
Feeling bad for your friend but there are fucked up people on this world and you should not give them the opportunity to abuse you.
One option is probably to minimize the chance of finding the video by claiming reports to google.
Another option would be to consult a lawyer that is specified on such topics since he knows best what is legally possible

It's kind of insane for me to think how many nice and caring people are on this forum considering that it's actually the sister site for WareZ
The only forum that I visit on a daily basis because it has interesting content aswell as nice people lol

We dont know where, what site or any detailed circumstances around this situation to make judgements or help this guy and his friend. Adults permissively filming stuff for each other privately and then one of them doing this shit for revenge is deplorable and should be enough for a takedown at the very least. She made a mistake by trusting this person and this person should be ashamed of themselves for doing something so nasty. Is it criminal? Again, we dont know where, what laws or anything else surrounding the situation.

If all else fails, I guess take it to the local and international media and organizations that deal with this kind of shit?

I thought almost the same when I started here.
And I keep saying this over the years: considering the number of users, that is basically anonymous and the huge differences both in music and personal backgrounds this is a really nice forum.
Of course there'll always be some arguments here and there. And some straight arseholes, but they end with their asses kicked out quite quickly.
