    B: MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)
C: Plugin Alliance* (or maybe Acoustica or Fabfilter??)

*But PA are not the "best" company to me or anything. I don't even use Reaper but I think Cockos is much closer to an ideal, ethical software company. They seem to listen to their user-base, implement fixes and updates often, give their users an unprecedented amount of customization options (whereas some companies will go to great lengths to make sure their 'brand' is never obscured behind some UI customization or whatever... seriously, who cares?), and overall have created a great product at an extremely reasonable price; all out of what seems to be a labour of love instead of increasing greed. This is simply rare in the market these days, so kudos to them.

I'm also running Kali Linux on a couple of machines (well one is a Raspberry Pi for erm "portable" reasons) but that would be shit for music production

Apple's Logic Pro X, Pro-Tools ( when I had a functioning version of it ), Ableton Live in very rare occasions

macOS (catalina, I will maybe upgrade once I've finish the project I'm working on, not even sure)

these 6 companies answer the 2 last questions at once, I can't decently pick one that is better
Spectrasonics, Overloud, Waves, Fabfilter, Soundtoys ( once again, when I had a functional version ), Spitfire Audio.

    Think about the title
    "Digital Audio Workstation" (DAW)
Does it do everything related to digital audio exceptionally well? MIDI, Audio Recording and audio manipulation, live recording of live ensembles (e.g. a 64 channel upwards desk into it simultaneously), has logical editors, does it notate digital audio at a professional level built-in, can it function without buying one plugin and produce the highest quality audio because it has plugins of equal quality? Last, does it look good and not require third party skin makers to make it look half decent?
Yes? Then it's a real DAW and a proper workstation and probably not a copy of something that was in existence before it was invented. If you are still using anything below windows 10 then within five years nothing new will work on it as 32bit is being completely phased out.

    Reaper
    W7
DMG, Fabfilter, Brainworx, iZotope, Sonnox, BlueCat, Toneboosters, Waves, Softube, Arturia,
    Lexicon, TC-Electronic, 2CAudio, Audioease, EastWest..
(looks like a lot but it's only very select plugs from each, usually just one..)

And an uncountable number of Libraries and V.I. companies,
NI/associates taking the prize ofc..

DAW: Studio One and Reaper. I've noticed this is a popular combo and it makes sense. I'd like to try Tracktion and perhaps Bitwig
OS: Windows 10 more tuned and tweaked than K.Kardassian's ass
PLUGINS: Fabfilter, Kontakt, Ample Sound and Overloud. I'd like to dig more into Meldaproduction's
