Hey all. Ill post a quick summary. Me and my business partner are looking for a coder who knows reaper JS stuff pretty well.

Our EQ idea has most likely never been done before and is only possible thus far with reaper fx chain and scripts. George Massenburgs MDW eq might be the only other eq that has done this. *might*

I will create the website and advertise/promote our product, while my partner quality checks the plugin.

Our potential plugin should sound better than most for subtractive eq for various reasons happy to go into depth if your interested feel free to dm me. In a basic sense we would incorporate technology that the computer understand better which in tern will make the cuts more natural and transparent then most if not all other eq's.

Im being somewhat vague on purpose btw so sorry for that. but dm me if your interested in working with us. If you work with us contracts will be issued for a substantial share of the sales.

I'm not sure JS is the best approach to code a commercial plugin. It's primarily useful to design Reaper internal plugins, not so much for generating VSTs that run in all the popular DAWs. I'm sure you are aware of that? Since you were referring to yourself and your "business partners" I assume you want to create a commercial plugin.

One guy who makes great stuff in JS is Tukan Studios. Check him out.

 

If you plan to develop plugin(s) for REAPER, JS is okay.
Otherwise, C++ (or similar), SDK, framework...

 

I think JS is based on LUA/XML so it's not that much useless to learn in the long run )

@ZeldaKing If I may ask the question: Why JSFX? Apart from the fact that JSFX is limited to Reaper, which of course limits the maximum possible reach and revenue, C++ is far superior to EEL2 in terms of performance and capabilities (assuming the developer knows what he is doing). So is there a specific reason for this?
