Hey everyone. Hope all of you are doing well!
I just got an access to a private and unique production community class with a lot of useful video tutorials.
I want to share them with the community.
But before I do anything I got a quick question just to be sure. How can i download the videos from each lesson without the website or the owner detecting me?
Because the production class is in 2 parts, so the first one is out right now with about 30 tutorials and the second one is going to be out in a couple of weeks.
So I honestly want to download everything without the owners kicking me or removing me from the class (so i can get an access to the second part eventually).
Do you guys have any ideas how I can do it the best and most importantly secretive/quiet way?
Would much appreciate any help

 

The only way would be screen capturing. Everything else is theoretically detectable: The User Agents, exact request formats, request periods while streaming, etc.
I don't know if anyone would really bother to implement security mechanisms like this, though. In most cases DRM would be a simpler solution and more fail-safe.

 

i see. thank you for this. what app or browser addon would you suggest me to use then? my question is more like, what do others use? simple screen capturing or app ( for examples for tutorials by: groove3, ask video, udemy etc.). i really don't wanna get sued for downloading copyrighted material since they already got some of my info and all

 

Internet Download Manger its what i use to download from groove3 while ago.
cause my country its like a ilegal paradise, i dont have to use a VPN .
remember your acc its the one available to enter to that place and when u download something maybe ur IP its there? or something?
what i think its to use a VPN and IDM.. if u receive any mail, tell them uve been hacked. but u recover ur mail? xd

 

i use windows download helper firefox add on,but you can try all the firefox or chrome add ons to see which one work for you

 

it is impossible to understand how video data can be downloaded without access to this site.

audio/video data downloading to your computer in any case.

wireshark to view all traffic from site

 

I depends in which way the Video is Hosted if HLS Stream (only Screen recording is possible). If the Video is Hosted as mp4 or any other normal Video format use the Developer Tool of your Browser like in the following Youtube Video.

do you know what was the reason to create this youtube video?
xemovie - is one of mirrors for scam. this fake streaming service showing intro for few seconds. user must pay for acccess to the "movie", but no any movie on the site....
and this youtube video - is usual ad of scam for stupid users

 

This, and what Olaf said. I use IDM to download videos from sites (if possible). Better sites have pretection to prevent plugins like IDM from working but you could always use OBS or other screen recorder, if need be.

But as Olaf said, I'm not sure anyone would be bothered to check logs and such to see whose downloading their videos. Chances are they'd employee other methods. As long as you don't upload videos with watermarks that uniquely identify you, I wouldn't personally worry, but it's not my money. Lol

HLS - streaming use short pieces of full streaming.
Requests and downloads all files, gathering them together in such a way as to provide the user with a continuous stream of video. The client software downloads the first index file via a URL and then several available media files. The playback software gathers everything into a sequence for playback.
In the "on demand" mode, the playlist contains links to all fragments from the first to the last.

xemovie is irrelevant for me i don't use them i use Kodi for Streaming, but it shows how to download with developer Tools and this can be done with every Video not using HLS.

 

I forgot to write encrypted DRM protected HLS Stream, normal HLS Streams can be downloaded your Way. Encrypted ones are only possible to Screenrecord (Use Firefox or something else than Chrome or it will not record the Audio, because Google blocks it.)

If you can show me how to download encrypted HLS Streams like on www.ctv.ca i would be very thankful, because i tried many Plugins like the Stream Detector and Live Stream Downloader without progress, so i switched to Screenrecord with Bandicam which works fine.

(Just watch some Videos about how to config everything :Audio, location to save etc.)

Also to the OP, if you did ever get caught you could easily say you had just downloaded them for personnal offline use, and that you were not aware you were not able to do so.

Curious what the videos are and if you ever downloaded and shared!
