Deal: TC Electronic TC8210-DT reverb plugin with hardware controller for $29

Black Friday Deal: for a limited time, you can get the TC Electronic TC8210-DT algorithmic reverb with the hardware controller for $29 USD.

Effects bring life to your sounds. They either serve as sound shapers or as enhancers. One advantage of hardware effects is that you have direct control over parameters. With knobs, buttons… This is different with VST plugins where you have to work with a mouse. A totally different user experience or map them to a MIDI controller. Which makes it better but not perfect.

The effects specialist TC Electronic came up with the interesting idea of pairing plugins with dedicated hardware controllers. And to offer all this at a very reasonable price. One of these hybrid plugins is now on a massive sale at Sweetwater for just $29.

    TC Electronic TC8210-DT
The TC8210 plugin is an algorithmic reverb made for lush timbres. It has controls for decay, color, diffuse, and modulation. These are available simultaneously on the plugin and MIDI controller. It also features accurate input and output meters for monitoring audio directly on the hardware.

According to TC, the reverb can preserve the natural characteristics of the source sound while contributing big halls, rooms, and other simulated rooms.

Important to remember: the hardware is just a MIDI controller, and everything related to DSP (audio processing) is done on the computer in the plugin.

The controller has two screens. and various buttons. The first is dedicated to the sound character and gives you the option to set the reverb type (TC Hall, Box, Ambient…) and to shape it (lo col, color, mod…). The second screen handles the main parameters like pre-delay, dry/wet, decay, early reflection…
TC-8210 plugin comes with a load of presets custom-built by professional producers and audio engineers. The hardware connects and powers over USB.

TC Electronic TC8210-DT Deal is available now for $29 USD for a limited time. In Europe, Thomann also has the plugin + hardware on sale for €59. It runs as a VST, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS and Windows.

It's available on the sister site. I think that the DVR250 is the better of these two reverbs. The TC8210 is supposed to be a cleaner reverb IIRC, and the DVR250 is more of a vintage and gritty reverb. I could be completely wrong about this though!

$29 for the software and the controller seems like an excellent deal though! The only controller I use is the Softube Console 1, which I love, so it could be nice to have a controller for reverb as well. The question is if you adjust your reverbs enough that it warrants a hardware controller. I can sit and fine tune EQ and dynamics paramaters for several minutes on end, and they are something I usually go back and adjust further later on. Reverbs are mostly something I set up pretty fast and rarely change later on. Also, as this controller is tied only to the TC8210 plug-in I'm not sure it would be used much at all. If the DVR250+controller were on sale for $29 I would most likely buy it. If you could get the TC2290+controller for $29 I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Where do I find the offer? It's not on the linked page. Looks like a cool reverb, though the controller is not too useful with only those arrow keys to select parameters. Rotarys or sliders (eg for wet / dry) would be much more useful.

i think this is actually a great idea, especially for the price, if other devs do this it would be real good!

This is a simple really easy to use and get a good sound out it reverb plugin. All the algos sounds good and it sounds kinda old, dark vintage-y even on the Bright settings. My favourite from it is the TC-Hall algo, it has that System 6000 Hall reverb characteristic and if you are into Depeche Mode, this is the type of reverb they use for their Live shows atleast for the past 10 years or so.

Great if you're an  American.
Shipping to a neutral country like Canada would double or triple the price with shipping, duties and tax.
Not worth it for an over-the-hill plug-in with a usb dongle.

So the TC8210 is also "vintage voiced"? I thought that it was a very clean sounding reverb, but maybe my memory is failing me. I only tested and compared it with the DVR250 for an hour or so, before I decided to uninstall the 8210 and keep the 250. Maybe I need to give the 8210 another spin!

These are great, especially for $29! I have a couple different one's (the Chorus unit and the 250 Reverb). Links right up to the software and gives you hardware control. They sound good and are a very useable tool plus they look awesome. Thank you BEAT16! I just picked one up on Amazon!
