I disagree.

It is a well known Kemper default : harsh highs and boomy bottom.
That's why ALL serious profilers use tricks to get a better capture.
Some ppl call it "Kemper eat my mids" syndrome

It can be done at the profiling stage, on hardware (like cutting low mids and high mids OR boosting mids and lowering gain in the amp FX loop... a lot of tricks to try).
Or it can be done afterward (like tweaking clarity, definition, EQ ...).

The argument of "bad profiling/not refined" was used against Rabbea "Kemper VS QC" first video.
He was flooded by posts like your.
He done it AGAIN, the so called "right way" ... Kemper lost again against QC.

Just face it : Kemper is NOT the best/only profiler anymore.
And his defaults are well know for 10 years.

sorry but not true,i own the Kemper and Axe 3,and for me Kemper sound awesome,already tried the QC sound good but there is no need to move from the Kemper,already help some of my friends to make his Kemper sound better,also i know pro guitar player that moved from QC or Fractal but they go back to Kemper,so no Kemper still one of the best units out there.

ppl are still using it, and i would too. If not so expansive VS QC.
About "needing" to move ... nobody really NEED to move from anything to anything : some ppl still play POD 2


Compare QC capture and Kemper of the same rig ... you keep the QC for sure soundwise.

You probably didn't profiled any amp with a Kemper.
I know what i'm talking about : mids are "disappearing", needing to tweak before and after capture.
You are probably using profiles done by other ppl who ALREADY done it.

As a side note, QC doesn't need "refining" because it is right from start.
Proving it is a better capture engine. Like ToneX.

As a side note, i can make Mooer MNRS 2.0 sound good enough to compare with Kemper with tweaking.
But a GE200 cost 200 bucks ... not 2000 like a Kemper.

Does it make Kemper less attractive ?
Yes and no : if you only want SOME amps sounding good, Mooer is enough.

Do you want the best sound on all captures ?
Kemper eat Mooer for breakfast for sure

Hi Rodger, I see in your screenshot you have a "preview" and "like" columns. In the sister site versions there isn't. Also the users images doesn't show (i've installed the library and image cache with your installer). Is it because you are using the legit version of tonex and connected to the IK server?

All profiles from ToneNET has identical abracadabra profile names for all users. If profile already in base, you can't download second time this profile. Users can delete own profiles from ToneNET. Don't compare this digits, pirats always has more

 

i dont need to watch any video because i dont trust videos,and yes i had profiled amps so i know what im talking and if i use profiles from other vendor or people what is the problem?,like i said before i tried the QC didnt like it,is cool unit and i can buy one right now if i want it but im very happy with my Kemper and Axe 3 and sorry i dont own the POD 2 but maybe that is what you play

use what make you happy but you are not going to change my mind about the Kemper

 

Checking Tonex again I've found 2 Great cleanish/on-edge tones to consider:
"Fresh Crunch" - (Stock Soldano)
"[afro] Blackstar Artisan 100 hi/v4" - (User made, one of the best digital tones I've ever tried..)

With good amount of Plate reverb (and a Strat..) they do the Eric Johnson thing quite nicely..

As for the rest, I'm still checking it out,
but again my impression is:
It's rather Stiff, altho the overall Color/Tone is pretty well captured..
Amps with Cab seem to work much better than without, at least in terms of presence.
It does an Ok job with my Tube Dist pedal, but nothing to call home yet in terms of Mojo..

Type of guitar/Pickups and Audio interface probably play a big role ofc so ourmmv

I find it can be favorably compared too Nembrini's Centaur which is great to begin with

 

BTW, just for clarity, the tester claims that he did use a refined Kemper profile for this test since a number of people asked him about that.

 

In fact they not "asked for refined profile" : Kemper fanboys HAMMERED the comments with this ONLY argument and down voted because most ppl liked the QC capture better ... so he removed the previous video
And got the SAME result again ... just to please Kemper fanboys with FACTS troubles

I know it : i seen the video BEFORE it was removed ... and the comments/votes too
It was like a Windows VS Apple with Apple fanboys hammering a video.
Or Reaper users VS any other DAW

You can refine what you want, QC and ToneX will win the "accurate" game.
It is almost 100% (see the video i posted).
Take it or leave it.
On the other side, Kemper advanced settings (clarity, definition ...) can transform a profile to YOUR taste.
That's a big positive for the Kemper

On my side, i don't give a f*ck about BOTH : they are BOTH too expansive for me

I sold my last all tube (HT5 and 1x12) when i used a Tonelab LE
It was enough to replace it, and even more.

Anyone still using the SQL update method to add new user profiles to their library? It's a bit of a chore to download everything when I don't use most of the models myself, but if there's sufficient interest I don't mind doing the occasional dump still.
