I take this as a compliment.

That's the question. What exactly is it doing? Is it an MB M/S compressor? No problem to achieve it otherwise. But if it's a dynamic MB imager, I don't know of any other pluggie which can do this. All imagers I know of are static and would produce a different result.
If it was just a dynamic M/S EQ, that'd be cheap and cheating. But I don't know if there's another option to achieve this...

    I do, this one https://www.voxengo.com/product/correlometer.

I've no intention of buying it, I'm just curious.

Correct, :winker: that's why I mentioned mastering a stereo file.

    "Phase limiter"

If you google "M/S compressor" or "M/S limiter" you will find what you look for.
As mentioned by BlackHawk, you can use any compressor or limiter with a M/S encoder/decoder. Voxengo MSED is freeware.

I don't think this is just a side comp, this thing reacts to phase correlation, not side level.

Now...isn't that the same in practical terms? kinda, it's just a different way of looking at things. Instead of taming the side channel itself, you're telling the thing to keep things above a certain correlation level. If you want to shape the dynamics of the side itself, a dedicated compressor would probably be better. If you just want to just focus on how the side is affecting correlation, then a phase limiter would be easier to use.

Other differences really come from the timing these things have, correlation meters (and limiters for that matter) usually default to long-ish averaging times.

jb barricade (free), sideminder (me2 for multiband), ozone imager (not adjustable afaik).

wow so many replies :mates: like suggested i was already using tools like Sideminder, CenterOne and more recently the Imager from Ozone 10 that lets you bring back lost signal. Guys, i did not invent the name "phase limiter" :rofl:its on this Space Control plugin! I know i can use any comp or limiter inside m/s matrix and compress/limit the sides, that is no problem. I asked here cause the video i watched showcasing this plugin was always saying "phase limiting" and the actual plug has a "phase limiter" knob, that is why i came here to ask the experts (experts in a good way, dont take me wrong) as this could be a new thing i wasnt aware of, so you all think this plugin its just a comp/limiter on the sides? That is just what i want to know.

Im always interested in keeping phase in check/sounding good in mono, but for example, sometimes i have a sample or snare that sounds bad in mono and good in stereo what i would do is use compress, eq or saturate in m/s mode and raise the mids to be higher than sides so there's no big difference between stereo and mono, or just lower the sides but this depends on the sound im using. What ive found great about the new Ozone 10 Imager is that one now can recover the sides while keeping mono compatibility. Hope i could explain why i was asking about this.

Especially in this case you don't need such a plugin. The methods you know and already apply are absolutely sufficient.

There is an incredible plug-in (PC ONLY) that is free and does exactly what it claims to do in terms of controlling phase issues.

You can see exactly what it's doing in the GUI and yes, it does take away some of the width of your mix, but if you're set on keeping it (your mix) mono compatible, then this is what you want to be using on nearly every instrument group bus and in some cases, on individual tracks where the stereo image is a little wacky.

    Yep, but it's not dynamic.
