FL Studio 21 is INSANE! - New Features

FL Studio 21 will be out soon. What new features can we expect to see in FL Studio version 21? In this video, I'll show you some teasers. FL studio 21 will have improvements to the browser, playlist, automation, mixer etc.

There will also be some new plugins. Themes are finally coming, which will be a welcome addition for anyone who miss the old skins in FL Studio. Most importantly, audio clips have been overhauled. It is now much easier to work with audio in FL Studio 21.

Note that FL Studio 21 is currently in BETA. The final version of FL Studio 21 will be somewhat different. What is being shown in this video is from the beta, and the final product will likely change significantly before it's launched.

However, at least this video will give you an insight into some of the functionality you can expect to see in FL Studio 21. FL Studio 21 will be free to download for anyone who already owns a copy since image-line offers lifetime free updates.

For more information about FL Studio 21 BETA check out the Image-Line forum here:

im not into fruity loops, but ive got some questions about the update's video.
    1. you are able to adjust the sample browser prelisten volume, and
    2. overlapping audio clips have got fades.
c'mon, those are really updates? those features werent there before???

i just found a video, how to adjust prelisten volume in fl 20:

in short, youve to route the browser's output to any channel on the mixer, and now youre able to use that channel fader to change the browser's volume. all in all, fl 21 is a worthy update... :suicide:

Well, sample preview volume is not really a big feature among all the innovations in FL 21 and, as you also say, was already possible in FL 20. I don't understand why you're so hung up on it?

Besides, there isn't even a release candidate out, it's still in beta.
And besides the new audio editing options in the playlist, themes and browser updates (tagging and favorting samples is a great workflow enhancer), it also has extremely good new plugins.

The new reverb (LuxeVerb) and MultibandDelay alone would easily justify a new update - let alone the fact that it's completely free for its users.

Yay, Image-Line now implemented the skin feature we were working on since FL 12.x
Means we finally won the war about beeing able to skin the vectorial GUI of FL Studio.

They first said we're liars and skinning isn't possible, they then argumented that we're criminals and
skinning is only possible by illegally editing the binaries and then they tried to sue the guy who patched
the skinning data in the memory without touching the binaries and wrote a tool for that (which isn't illegal at all)
but he had to take it down anyways from Github + they striked Videos on YouTube for copyright violation
in which a skinned FL Studio was used even if the creator owned a legit license...

...and now after their own community started to complain about the skin feature because they also
wanted to use an eye pleasing interface, they finally decided to concede & accept that their behaviour
about this topic was completely nuts.

because they are proud to invent a fader for sample prelisten volume changing, in 2022. without advanced menu surfing and routing. i wonder that such a feature was there never before!

i still can't stand the workflow ... something that will NEVER change
I don't see them reprogramming all from ground up. And power users complain about changes.
Too bad, because features are VERY nice

Not for me, and never will.

Actually, the workflow is no more different from other linear DAWs after all, if you want to work that way. Basically you can do everything in the playlist: drag the plugin onto the track header and you have a midi track... or drag a sampler onto it to record drums. You don't really have to put up with this purely pattern-based workflow anymore if you don't want to. That's what you're referring to, isn't it?

i tested every FL version since it is called FL Studio.
I stopped at v21, because i can't stand how FL works.
I'm not going to loose my time with it again

It is not a linear DAW, and never will. They run around it for more than a decade now.
Stacking "features" to make it behave somewhat like one ... but not. It isn't and never will.

I will stick with real linear DAWs, like Cubase and Studio One.
If i was on Mac, i would probably use Logic.

You can select which channel is used for prelistening and dthen adjust it in the mixer accordingly, this was already possible several versions in the past.

Hello @aeroflot, yes it will be free. The business model of FL Studio says that all updates are free for life.
