I saw that somehow I had gotten the free offer for helix 3.5.... so I downloaded it and installed it over a 3.15 VR release.

It worked without authorizing!!!

Preferring to go legit, I uninstalled everything relating to helix native and then reinstalled the legit version and I authorized it.

But, maybe take a risk and see if 3.5 will just install over your system without a problem? Keep in mind it IS a risk imo, might want to backup presets.

this could have happened because I was signed into my line 6 acct on this pc even tho with the exception of the latest firmware upgrade I was blocking line 6 in my hosts file...

I think I'll wait because if it finally turns to be true that "update for free" of yours some group/hacker will put all the pieces in one.

But old k'ed licenses usually don't work with new updates of Helix. Maybe Line6 wasn't bothered to update their protection this time?

Can't say for sure though as Line6 software doesn't even work on my machine (if I have any kind of external/USB drive connected), so I don't check Helix or other Line6 software that often.

EDIT: I just remembered that I haven't used V.R's version of Helix, I've only used their Ampeg release.

I don't own official Helix, previous version I had installed was R2R's 3.0.1, but the following update process seemed to work just fine:

Properly uninstalled 3.0.1 (also delete %APPDATA%/Line 6/ and make sure 0.0.0.0 line6.com is in your hosts) --> Installed new 3.50 version (installer from official site, you'll most probably have to register an account) --> Used the medicine from R2R's 3.15 --> DONE!

 

The R2R keygen of previous version works with the new (official installer) 3.50 version. Just remove the older, install the new and run the keygen.

is there a way to install Helix Native 3.5 on a Mac using the R2R Keygen ? is it possible to transfer the license from a PC to a Mac ? Asking for a friend.

 

No matter what, the R2R versions of helix never seem to work on my system. Followed their instructions to the letter x times , combined with a registry cleaner as well to no avail. In the end it always ends up asking to authorize the computer and can't seem to pass that screen.

It keeps asking to login and authorize my computer. Upon loading, it also deletes the purchase.dat (whatever is called) file on the appdata folder installed by the keygen, so strange.

I once tried to unblock line 6 site to get it authorized. It did, but then it asked me to try or buy, so I went on trial mode, blocked the hosts again, reran the keygen and it kept working on trial mode. .. I don't understand what's wrong I have seen a few people online having the same issue, but haven't come across a solution yet.

Unfortunately the V.R. version freeze on exit so these don't work after a while..

I have the exact same problem. None of the recent R2R versions work despite many attempts. I always go back to VR v3.15. I tried the 3.5 R2R version on my laptop and it worked fine, so it's definitely an issue with specific systems. Hopefully VR does another version.

 

Still having the same issue as above (tried everything up to 3.7)

My guess is could be related to the R2R keygen using an incorrect machine ID or whatever based on my hardware config. In the past I've had to replace an incorrect MAC address to properly register some plugins, but this doesn't have a UI or provide any details so there's nothing I can change.

For now I'll have to keep hoping for another VR version...

 

When you have attempted re-installing the problematic plugin, did you remove it with Revo Uninstaller first? You can also reinstall the problematic version with Revo, and then during that re-installation it should record exactly what needs to be removed. Uninstall that way, and reboot. Try again and it should work. Almost always when settings and things are not something you can change from the plugin or app; there are residual files left (or reg keys, something they can find). So your new installation attempt may not overwrite those files; or your new copy can be finding them because they were put there to deauth the plugin.

It's exactly what @ArticStorm previously posted about with it authorizing correctly for no reason, because it is finding old files the same way. It's looking for them on the local hard disk, and they have somehow hidden them on you. Maybe they even change a registry key.

That's odd. Never had any probs with R2R Helix releases. In fact, I dld both 3.61 and 3.70 official installs from Line6 installed them on top of R2R regged 3.6 and both worked just fine....didn't even have to re-authorize. I had the same good fortune with IK Tonex and Amplitube.

 

I have R2R 3.71 Helix native working on my PC. I want to start exploring new presets. From what I understand, you need to load presets using Helix Edit. Does anyone know if I can use Helix Edit with the R2R Helix Native? Also, where does one get good free (or cracked) presets? Thanks
