i have cloned HDD and SSDs on the same PC, but i never thought about doing it on other pc, because the entire configuration will be different, it will cause a much greater mess rather than installing all the programs fresh. Bcauz most licenses (audio related) are hardware based, even if u copy it successfully and start to relax that everything is over and fine, problems start to rise up one by one, right in the middle of some tough day u might be having.
So its better to do it now. Just my opinion.

Not if you do it by creating a wim image backup. The hardware configuration will be set during the installation process automatically
and everything else will be placed as you placed it on your old system.

That's why sys admins use this method - they can customize & capture an installation to duplicate it on as much machines as they want,
no matter what hardware is inside. In the end every employee has the same OS with the same company related settings and apps.

Sorry, I attributed it to the wrong user because I was probably editing it from a longer segment of a post. It was just a poster stating that migrations of any kind can often end up with some missing file or anything you might need to chase down. Could be worse :)
