That's ok my friend. Valhalla has so many great reverb plugins, I even once clapped my hands in a cathedral and the echo said "Val...hal...la..."

BTW, for post rock-ish sounds, Valhalla has better suited plugins, like Supermassive (free), Room (which I believe even has a few presets called Cocteau Twins) and Vintage Verb (best reverb plugin overall). Not saying Plate is bad, it's awesome, but you can go way beyond just reverb with the ones I just mentioned. With Supermassive, a single note can become a 45 second wall of ambient fuckery. Try it out.

In 2013 there were hardly any reverbs. With the technological progress and more CPU and RAM, a lot of reverbs could be realized until today. Many manufacturers then produced and invented a lot of reverbs from which you can choose one or more today.

Not everyone wants a "LUSH" sound. When it comes to realistic spaces IRs are petty much unbeatable. And you can always blend them in with some modulated algos if you feel the need. Ableton's stock "Hybrid Reverb" does exactly that and it's also easy to set it up yourself with any reverb plugin you like. Either use two separate fx busses (one convo and one algo) and send your signal into both or follow up the convo on its FX bus with an algo that's not fully wet (say 50% wet for example).

It's almost as if Quantec and Bricasti cover different aspects / domains of reverbation.

I now use only the FabFilter - Pro-R Algorithmic Reverb. Previously I had always used the Lexicon - PCM Reverb.
It is better to stay with one plugin - it has the advantage that you get to know your reverb better and can use the reverb better.

I had even bought the Eos back in 2009! However, it no longer met my expectations after some time.

Valhalla does not like me so well graphically. Arts Acoustic, has even got a new GUI from users here, but I have a
4K monitor and there you can not use the old plugins because the surface is too small and therefore unreadable.

I have already decided a few years ago for FabFilter - Pro-R and my Hall search has finally found an end.
But it was a nice time as a plugintester.

What's your opinion on the Neunaber Wet Reverbèrator?
I played guitar through it for some thirty minutes, got instant vibes from it.
Maybe it's because the Neunaber Seraphim pedal is on my pedalboard for many years now, but it just feels right to me.

First, it has a very bright sound in general, like crystal clear. It's almost too clean, perfect and whitewashing ... but somehow it doesn't sound sterile or digital cold. As for now I can only speak in terms of the guitar, but I guess it's sonic qualities should be matching synths as well.

Second, it can produce very huge spaces and almost infinite sustains without getting out of control. Great for ambient stuff.

Third, my guitar pedal has only three knobs (and a shimmer mode). It's not that I miss anything from it, but compared to this the plugin has so many easy-to-use options, that doesn't destroy the distinctive "wet" sound. Conclusion: if you call yourself a reverb lover as I do, don't miss to try this, but be aware you have to get the dirt in your sound somewhere else.

BigSky for sure I would say. A little more subtle in it's modulations than the strymon to my ears.
I always used BlackHole for more drastic effects, so I'm not sure how it compares to the Neunaber in terms of a more "conventionell" use of reverbs. I really like the BigSky too, but no matter what I dialed in, it always has this "strymon big fx sound" ... the Neunaber feels a bit less dominant, if that make sense. Other than that the sound of these two is somehow close, yes

As someone who makes tracks with frequent & prominent high frequency transients, one of the most important factors in a reverb for me is avoiding a "sizzle" sound caused by a buildup of high frequency elements, with good diffusion being equally as important. Valhalla reverbs have solid control over this with adjustable decay times for high frequency content. Apart from that, they're really nothing to write home about, but I find them "good enough" in most cases. The low CPU & 0 latency is another upside. If I want a nicer sound, or greater control, I use iZotope's Neoverb.

I like using convolution in bitwig. There are tons of IR's out there that work with it.
