I am having this same issue. ToneX is pretty much useless to me with the Scarlett 2i2 right now. It has a severe lag since the ASIO is not kicking in properly. I am hoping it will be ironed out. In the meantime I have been using ToneX via Amplitube 5 just fine. Though I am creating some songs in MPC, and if I try to use Amplitube it now crashes when I select an amp. Hopefully this is just part of the process and it will all get ironed out with patches and stuff. That is just part of getting in on this in the early stages. I imagine it is hard for the engineers to account for everything. BUT since they already had the ASIO implemented in Amplitube 5, why wouldn't they just implement that into ToneX off the bat. Framework is different maybe? I dunno. Hoping this gets fixed soon because I think this is going to be a cool platform when all the kinks get ironed out.

Nice to know I checked some youtube videos and it seems that a lot of tones have this crunchy old school rock feeling.
I hope they will add more so we can get some nice metal sounds aswell

It is a matter of finding the limits ... and a way to "compensate" for limitations.
Some ppl seems very near. But i still hear a "spongy", slow attack on high gain.

On the other side, tight high gain can ALREADY be simulated by most solutions.
So having "all the rest" right is already a victory for IK.

We will see the final answer soon, by internet "spread".

They really need to greatly improve the profiling process especially using the advanced quality. Leo Gibson's demo on youtube took 1 hours and 40 minutes of processing time to complete, that's crazy!

Leo Gibson is a nice guy. Making nice vids.

I looked inside ToneX engine : they use TensorFlow
    https://www.tensorflow.org

Open source machine learning platform (google)

It turns out that this part of the process is GPU intensive rather than CPU, there's a video on YouTube of this being reduced to 3 mins using a RTX 3070.. Edit i just checked IK website to see if it mentions it ''Intel: Intel® Core™ i3 or equivalent CPU (Core i5 recommended for Modeler), Windows® 10, 4 GB of RAM, 6 GB of hard drive space, NVIDIA GPU with Maxwell or newer architecture is recommended to reduce training times (eg. GeForce GT 750 or higher).'' From the video i saw it does not work fast with AMD GPU's

I'm likely gonna get blasted by this, but honestly I felt this was very underwhelming. Came on as an over hyped new thing, and in the end it's just a dumbed down, simplified version of Amplitube. There is the tone capture, obviously this is what's it's all about, but honestly, after testing it as a amp sim, I'd much rather just stick with Amplitube.

I fell that if you have nice amps, cabs and gear and capturing it is important for you, to have it on your pc at ready, then sure, I can see the appeal of Tonex. But if you're just using it as an amp sim, just stick with Amplitube.

The GuitarML developer (open source equivalent to ToneX) outsources the machine learning process by using the free tier of Google Collab. That way he doesn't have to use his own CPU or GPU to perform the tedious tasks:

If you can´t feel and hear the difference between ToneX and Amplitude, stick with amplitude, yes.

Hi, I have S-Gear standalone and love it. Could you tell me how to use Nebula N4ZL with it to get better cab emulation?

been using ToneX inside Amplitube for days since release. Why would you choose either of that if you can use both at the same time.

Ah there's a slight downside to it though. When you are using ToneX inside Amplitube, it does the recall alright but you need to open EVERY single Amplitube instances in the project after you open the project or else it will not produce sound. Just open the Amplitube then close it back. Not sure it is factory bug or "authorization bug" but some guy will fix that soon.

    Try this:

Ah found out how to make a Zero Latency version of N4 and the OwnHammer 412-GTR MAR-CB MIX MSC.

    1. Load N4 select Finder, select highlight only OHC\MRC folder, close finder.
    2. Click Setups click + button New Setup.
    3. Name - N4ZL, Magic ID - N416, Description - Zero latency setup, Default Skin - don't change anything, Format - vst or vst3 which ever suits you.
    4. Bottom left corner + click to add program (OHC\MRC and all cabinets should be listed) select highlight MRC folder
    5. Bottom right corner click on tweaks\Local Tweaks tab + add tweak
    6. Add this info;- Name: ZEROLATENCY, Value: 1,
    7. + add tweak; Name: OTIMED, Value 3
    8. + add tweak; Name: AHEADLENGTH, Value: 1500
    9. Click Save.

Now load up DAW of choice it will scan new N4ZL vst. Chose this version for tracking and N4 untouched for mixing. Taken from N4 manual.

    viola.

It is greatly dependant on capture itself.
    Like any profiler.
I see some really good ones raising.

BUT they are buried in a stack of crap ...
Same with Mooer Studio : i stick with Anthony Class profiles because most others are crap

They call it "community", but i call it "open door, put your crap here".
ToneNet, like any "open" platform, is going to be flooded by crap.

I don't know what you guys say about Tonex but to me it sounds really really great! IMHO it sounds greater than Neural DSP or every other amp-sim i tried. It sounds full and balanced if you tweak it, also the high end is not fizzy but clear. To me it feels like a real amp. Definitely a game changer. The only downside is the interface, i dislike it

I don't know if i 'm doing something wrong but it seems that the only way i can use the pedals from tonex is to insert one more instance of the plugin. The first insert to simulate the pedal an the second for the amp+cab. Please inform me if there is another way to do it. Thank you :disco:

I can't insert it in the same channel. but i can send my signal to an fx channel with tonex as an insert
I can load many instances of TONEX in the same project but not in the same channel.
i dont know if its kinda cpu and/or ram related.
FYI i have ryzen 9 5950x with 32 gigs of ram.

Use Amplitube 5 instead of ToneX alone to use several instances.
ToneX is in amp section, bottom.

I didn't know i could run two instances of tonex inside amplitube in series. I ll check that out
I know where i can browse it but i skipped installing it anyway cause to my ears it always sounded thin and "papery", even the VIR "technology" failed to my ears... Maybe i ll give it a shot only for using tonex.

I thought I share it here, the real gem of the Amplitube 5 is the API 560 EQ module (the graphic EQ) after the cab. Add some 1-2k, some 250, crank the gain a bit (make sure to compensate the output after). I can assure sure all amp will sound good. It's weird I know, but try it. There's something about that EQ when you use it on guitar.

Really interested in the user created stuff, especially from people who really care about big, full, roomy clean tones and have nice mics to capture them. Not interested at all in all the piles upon piles of slightly different extreme high gain tones for boring metal heads who don't understand what bass guitars are for. The GUI looks awful.
