I created a post in the steinberg forum but nobody could help me, hope someone here has the answer.

I notice that when i open a project in Cubase 7.5 and lising to music in winamp or spotify at the same moment
and when the project is done with the load up, that track i was listening to by spotify changes the bpm to current bpm I have in the project.

Is there any fix to this?

what audio driver are you using? most people use Asio drivers for their DAW, but you will not be able to listen to Spotify at the same time when using ASIO (however I think this link will covercome that problem

im using firewire sound card TC konnekt 9 i think, i was able to lising to spotify and produce at the same time with cubase 6 before the upgrade.

i think it has something to do with asio stuff that i dont understand so much about i send a screenshot of my setting please check if its correct setup. [IMG]

there is no tempo sync between cubase and other apps like spotify and winamp let alone time stretch algos in them.

is it that when your project as finished loading that the song playing in winamp or spotify slows down and pitches down

as it is probably that there using a sample rate of 48k that windows likes to use and then when cubase loads it changes your sound card to 44.1k so the audio buffer from spotify is being played back slower

have a look in control panel/sound playback tab select speakers then properties under the advance tab check if default format is 44100 hz like your preferred sample rate in cubase

    wow thx mate it worked.

win 8.1 would not let me change it to 44.1 but it was a ticked box. "allow applications to take full control of this device" which I checked off and now it works. thanks again :) :)
