So I do not quite understand the issue, with me the leaves are falling from the trees and it has become
noticeably colder and the days are getting shorter. Help a clueless user what is this really about?

 

Ok, I'll try. The whole thing started as a Twitter meme when some bright spark tweeted Billie Joe Armstrong "Wake up!" on this day, Oct 1st a few years back ("Wake me up when September ends..."). It's since become a way bigger thing with millions of tweets and retweets and it's now spilled over elsewhere, like here.

We just turned it into a boozefest apparently for our autumnal comfort.

Billie Joe Armstrong must have suffered a trauma, no wonder when the father dies at
10 years old, it leaves a strong impact, I recommend therapy with a trauma therapist.

Wake Me Up When September Ends" was written by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong about
his father, who died from esophageal cancer when Armstrong was 10 years old.

I can only speak from my own experience, but having to deal with your parent's passing when you're around that age is not exactly straightforward. Regardless of the treatment and help you get it will stay with you for the rest of your life. Were I an adult I would've been in much better place to deal with things. But such is life.

Saying that, it's no wonder that the song resonates with me quite a bit.

 

The singer writes a song to deal with this profound event and to communicate,
many people who listen to the song can understand, if not heal.

I also have a friend whose father and brother died in a traffic accident, he was very young when it happened.
Today he has a borderline syndrome, which arose from very great suffering inflicted as a child.

In my opinion, you can just today very much therapy. It is said to be very painful and there are many tears.
But one can mitigate the disturbances somewhat.
