What Mics and Gear do they use for Soap Opera Voices?

    I don't usually watch Soap Operas, but when I do happen upon them the Voices just have this Sound that so upfront,clear and concise. :dunno:

    I think they just use the on board mic on the VHS camera.
    By the way that video was the funniest thing i ve seen all week.

    Is this the most interesting man in the world? from the beer commercial, "stay thirsty my friends" guy? he was a soap star wow.

    These emoticons are amazing looking at the "drummer" emoticon :drummer: it looks like he's playing thee, Ba dum bump like an old school joke emphasis sound.

    Those shows are mostly recorded on sets built in TV studios so just like music studios the exact choice of equipment will vary somewhat between different places. But it's no mystery what they do.
    It's pretty easy to get a nice & clear sound when you're working in a controlled environment with experienced technicians.
    You basically just need a really good high-end mic and then you can line that into whatever gear that particular studio have in the control room.
    That could be anything from just a good preamp & a nice small mixer to big studios that have a ton of stuff.

    Then there's of course post production also with experienced guys doing the final mix & master process in studios designed specifically for that.

    Thanx that puts it in perspective, there voices sound so good. I used to hate Soaps, but now that "Reality T.V." has run them off the air, I see that they were the lesser Evil. *yes*
