Greetings. I have a strange problem. I am using a Yamaha THR5A portable amp/USB interface and my Windows 10 Surface Pro 4 small laptop as a portable vacation music recording and instructional video production machine while away from home. Everything is working fine except I notice that the guitar signal coming from the amp into Reaper is very low amplitude. Because I am not recording with Reaper but rather using it as an input to OBS video recording program for synchronized videos, I cannot just simply normalize the guitar track because it is not being recorded or been recorded. If I up the gain on the Yamaha THR5A, distortion starts coming in which I do not want. The Reaper gain controls are not strong enough to boost the signal significantly (max about 12db)

So is there a .vst I can plug into the Reaper guitar track to "cleanly" boost its incoming volume or signal level without distortion. Any thoughts? Thanks!

 

iZotope Relay

 

Well that is interesting. I have checked the website. I am a little unsure. Can the Relay plug in be used on its own on a track to adjust input gain without interacting with other iZotope features/plugins or does one need a suite of IZotope plugins for this Relay feature to work? Thanks for any clarification!

 

RPR already includes a volume_pan JS. the slider goes up to 12, but you can type in any value.

Click on the Edit... button and edit the values for slider1 .

Sorry haven't been on in a few days.. but yes you can absolutely use just relay by itself. The catch is they don't distribute relay on its own tho so you'd have to obtain it with something else. I was assuming you'd be using the sister site so that wouldn't matter much lol.
