I have a legit version of Avenger but I never use it (don't have it installed even). I really tried but couldn't get to grips with the tabbed UI and the large knobs, it annoyed the hell out of me. Very personal of course.

Its biggest advantage is that it can do everything (except serious FM like FM8 or F'em do), so if you don't already have a bunch of other synths, you could get Avenger and be done with it.

Motivational sentences for using the Avenger VSTi

Do you have a monitor that's too small? What monitor are you using?
In Avenger itself you can change the size of the GUI, and there is also the possibility to use other skins.

I second that, especially for Rapid.
Bought it a while ago, and it is one of the synths i often use.
Updates come rather sparse, but at least you don't have to re-authentificate it again every 90 days.
Been thinking about Falcon too, but 350,- € for a hybrid synth is still way out of my budget.
And for Avenger I am not sure, like as already said, most of the expansions are quite expensive.

Look the Avenger costs 199 EUR, it's worth that, it's a market price. Several years of development and in those 4 years he
didn't earn any money with the Avenger, but lived off his other products he sells. You also get plenty of factory sounds.

The extensions are not expensive, but far too cheap. The sound designer who makes the presets has to make a living from it.
It is very time-consuming to program good sounds. Most of the time, the manufacturer gets half of the income.

A soundbank with 128 sounds = 150 hours of work.
    60 EUR : 150 = 4 EUR hourly wage
Now you can calculate how much you have to sell to make a reasonable living.

Been wanting to update this for years since using the old cracked 1.4.1 version. I finally caved and bought it with this deal. They offered half off a bunch of expansions too. Absolute beast of a synth.

What initially turned me off from buying it was that I read from others you can’t run the older cracked version and all the expansions alongside a legit version on the same PC or use the cracked expansions with a legit version. Tried it out, legit version plays some cracked presets but errors out on others. Also, each version will constantly ask you to authorize it all over again and install the factory content once you load the other version.

Found a (annoying but effective) workaround: install cracked 1.4.1 first and all the factory/expansions content. Load it up in your DAW and authorize (crack) it. Close DAW. It puts the content in c:\program data\vengeance\VPS Avenger. Rename this folder to whatever (I did VPS Avenger 1.4.1). In your VST folder, make a separate folder for the 1.4.1 dll file and one for the 1.8.2 (or latest) dll file. Now install the latest legit version and your legit expansions. Put the dll in the 1.8.2 folder and rename it to Avenger 1.8.2.dll (or whatever version) and rename the other dll to Avenger 1.4.1.dll then load it up in your DAW and authorize it. Now if you ever want to use the older version just go back and rename your folder to “VPS avenger” and the other to “VPS Avenger 1.8.2” (or whatever you want) and vice versa when you want to use the new one. Annoying, hell yes. But this way I don’t have to buy all my old expansions again.

I know what you mean, please don't get me wrong.
What I meant was, that Avenger is a Synth worth buying, but I neither have the money at the moment for it (babyboy on the way) and no own income (because early retirement due to health problems), it's too expensive for ME. Well, at least at the moment, until I finally can make some bucks from my music.
But yeah, Avenger IS worth buying.

Avenger sounds really good, but the browser was an awful experience for me. Glad I didn't buy it. If they fix that, I'm in.

Save your money, there are so many freeware synthesizers out there. I wish you and your family all the best.

Thanks my friend. Yeah, I probably won´t get it (at least not so soon), as I already own Rapid which has some similar functions, which is also developed and sounddesigned by Mirko Ruta, who works on Avenger as well. ^^

What I miss in Rapid compared to Avenger, are
    - Multi-steps / Free envelopes
    - Filters routing/mixing from oscillators

tbh i see people going crazy with phaseplant - also kilohearts encourages people to create presets - the crazier the better, i hardly see Avenger on action, zero Rapid Synth on videos. Do people really use Rapid and/or Avenger?

but maybe here factors in, that kilohearts bundle is out in the open?

But i appreaciate that Avenger atleast lets you create your own presets, rapid too.

The number of videos you see does not determine how many people use a synth. It more a indicator of how much effort dev do to promote his material ...

I use Parawave Rapid every day, and also Avenger very often, depending of what I'm looking for. As I said, Rapid dont have those so useful free envelopes that have Avenger (and now phaseplant with last update).
But Rapid have by far the best granular engine actually on the market (Phaseplant and Avenger dont have any granular capacity oscillator), so there are things that can only be done with Rapid.

Speaking about videos, I've seen a painful click-bait video "how to make granular synthesis with Phaseplant" lol ... Replacing the grains, by moving the read head faster on a sample :deep_facepalm: ... Please ...

It's like roli software, like equator 2 for example. Every 2 Weeks i have to be online and running the roli-connect app to renew my license!
I think, if the (realy good) software would be free, much more people would buy their hardware...

    I know all this rumours!
Personally i just can say that the software and especially the hardware is just awesome and unique!
    But , anyway, thats offtopic...
Avenger is one of the greatest synths when it comes to sounddesign
Just for having good synths with good presets thedarkbird has all he needs!

    ps for all synthfans:
    perturbator is actually on tour!
