Intel hit a rough patch from around the 7th/8th up to the 11th Core i generation. In many cases, these platforms are inferior to corresponding Ryzens. Since the 12th generation Intel is competitive again.

If you are low on cash there are stores that specifically carry refurbished PC's acquired from companies that change their PCs every 2-3 years you might be surprised with the deals they have, you can even buy them without RAM or HDD or add more.

 

I live in a country(shithole),i can't find this stuff,here they sell refurbished stuff instead of new,fake instead of original,old 4th gen i7 cpu same price as 10th i5 cpu,f..k them

 

So far I've used BFD3, Trilian, some omnispheres, some Kontakt for orchestral and percussion, some Neural DSP Gojira on guitar tracks, and a few Falcons at a time. I haven't encountered any issues with condition => bouncing all VSTi into audio files when you done on composing and move into mixing stage.

Apart from that, when composing with all the VSTi, the CPU meter is still very safe. What I think is quite heavy is RAM. I'm using 16 GB (2x8GB) and it has very little left. Maybe I should upgrade to 32 GB later.

Regarding storage, on drive "C" I use a 512 GB NVME SSD and drive "D" (all the kontakt libraries, falcon, play, etc.) I use an 8 TB 7200 RPM hard drive. And so far there have been no problems. Loading VSTi is normally fine.

Maybe you can tell me in detail, your maximum budget, the maximum number of VSTi you use and what VSTi you use... so I can see your case more clearly.

16 gb 3200(3600mhz) ram ( i searched for rams and i found this at good price : klevv 32 gb ddr4 4000mhz )
and i have a old gpu,i don't need a new one

 

In theory, an i7-12700 or even an i5-12600 will suit all these tasks.
But when you find a potential pc-part combination, the i3-12100f turns out to be able to do all that.

If your max budget is 450 USD, your options are not too broad.
This is a list that I created based on my country's currency and I converted it to the current US currency.
I made two paths, the "A" if you want to upgrade, and the "B" path I assume you will not upgrade.
And I assume you only need a processor, SSD, motherboard, and RAM.

A. If you plan to upgrade (RAM and SSD based on your references)

Maybe that can be references for your consideration. In addition, you can try to use 16 GB of RAM (2x8GB) first and then upgrade when you need it (or if you have money).

If you want a very significant difference, you may have to save some more money until you can buy the i5-12600. That is the sweet spot for the performance of the 12th generation Intel processors.
But the i3-12100f is not so bad. In fact, for music production, it is still good. Because I'm currently using it myself while saving money to upgrade in the future.

for cpu upgrade a 13th gen cpu is good, i5 13400 (6p cores,4e cores,16 threads,24mb cache---Rumored),1700socket MB support it,compatible with ddr4,it's better and faster than i5 12400 (you can check it for your cpu upgrade)

Chances are I'll skip the 13th generation Intel if the 700-Series Chipset is mandatory.
Since my move from AMD to Intel Gen12 has been quite a drastic drain on my finances and my life, maybe I will continue on my path until my need requires me to make the Intel Gen switch from Gen12 to Gen13 or to Gen14 and so on...

i3 doesn't meet the minimum requirements of many plugins and DAWs, it's not just about efficiency but CPU instructions. Wait for black friday or cyber monday and buy an i5 12400 (or 12500 - 12600). Models ending in "F" have no graphics, so you must also have a video card. In audio production, the "efficient cores" are disadvantageous and must be deactivated.

 

if you want to stay on very low budget, then start searching for some recently thrown-away office computers, especially now when businesses are rushing into Windows 11, they cannot use anything older than 8th gen Intel, so you can find good deals on 7th gen Intel already, 6th being also viable
