Change is great especially when it's so vast but there can be growing pains that go along with it. We're really trying to sort through any GUI and performance issues because though new is great we don't want to leave our old friends behind. So if you happen to be on an older system and are having any problems with the aforementioned please post here so we can work to get them resolved to the best of our ability. We do have to accept though that to have an engine, GUI and features that will support our growth into the future we have to make some sacrifices in backwards compatibility. Otherwise we'd never get anywhere. An AudioZ of the future requires at least some reasonable hardware to match and anything built within the last 5 years should be able to work flawlessly.

Always forget to tell you, believe me or not but when I'm on audioz everything is very rich and it look's like some good vst plugin, and I always try to find LFO, ENV controls and then I stop and say to my self: you idiot! :)

    For me work perfectly btw.

there's been a jQuery plugin that disabled hover effects while scrolling, to make scrolling actually smoother.
now i disabled it and waiting for feedback from a few members.

however, i actually noticed the stutter myself WHILE page loads, and that is totally normal especially when there's a youtube video involved or lots of screenshots loading.

    take this for example:

Yeah take Part III of Transmissions because you know that one is probably the worst because I used tons of images and I always put 2 videos on every row to squeeze in more content. Personally for me AudioZ loads and scrolls faster than ever and sometimes I can't even believe all the content loaded this fast. By the way on that we really did it thread on page 2 I am getting comment boxes that are normal and then suddenly comment boxes that stretch to the edge of the screen. Is this intentional?

I'm on a Pentium 4 2.6 ghz(well almost 3.0 oc'd) with 2gb ddr1(400 mhz) and a 512mb agp card.On my machine the new Audioz is a lil slower,I'd have to wait a lil longer for pages to load, etc. But I'll say SAiNT,what you disabled made it much faster,at least on my system

Ooh I feel your pain brother, you need some upgrades. *yes*

Keep in mind we also have an RSS feed to keep on top of releases in a way that might be easier on your system. Soon we will even come full circle and release a newsletter which is how we started out. :wow:

saw that too. weird it only happened there. too tired to fix it today. :(

with your new machine - no wonder

but, try to clear your cache and load the main page, and scroll while it actually loads - you'll see stuttering, but then again - it's normal when you have no cache, i get this on many web-sites very often.

thank you for feedback, that's really weird, but if it works better this way, i won't put that script back :dunno:

Yeah I was due for some upgrades for a LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG time. Glad to have finally joined the 21st century.

Part of it will be because of the inherent slowdown due to JavaScript and client side processing. Also dependencies on external sites and images. I will run some tests on older computers of some friends so I can personally get a feel for the experience.

Im liking the new AudioZ look =) Definitely a good change. Really refreshing =)

But I am finding myself lost on it at some points. No to the point where I am actually "lost" Just taking some getting usto, as with all change would be I guess.

The only thing I'm not 100% on is the comment section, and how the post comment box was way up top (that may have been fixed recently though).

That and the double column, Yeah it fits in more content but I find myself looking back and realizing I have missed stuff I would have found interesting.

All in all, I like the change and am sure there will be fixes and updates until its perfect =)

(Performance wise its all good for me)

    PS-
I love being able to click on the Peeplinks now...xD Small change but that's handy.

    EDIT-
Just checked, the "Add new comment" box is to the top right for me. and all the comments are squashed to the left side.

    I have nooooo Idea xD

I just came up with it because I love using Reaper as my DAW and alot of people are "scared" of it because its not big and bulky or "Industry standard" xD

I browse through Firefox with 'NoScript' and 'FlashBlock' pkugins.

I enable Java for various features of websites eg. The drop-down menu and Search field auto-clear of old Audioz.
But whatever Java is lurking under the hood, the more page tabs I had open, the slower Firefox + my PC became.

Haven't evaluated the new Audioz much yet, but my plea to you is to minimise the Java candy to minimise load.

    Thanx.

in case with AudioZ i'm 90% sure it won't give you any performance boost, i've only wrote about 12kb of jQuery and the engine uses some JavaScript which you'll have to load anyway.

if anything, you should be disabling pictures and videos, that's probably why AudioZ stutters while loading.

On a site i helped built a few years ago we included a button at the top of the page to re-load without images
A bit of a dirty fix but helped users with low bandwidth connections to view content without the load/stutter problems..
    Just a suggestion...
Saying that the site looks and behaves great for me and there is never pleasing everyone...ever....(been on the site more years than i care to remember now and have seen this countless times..well done with the patience you show to some of the more testing users...some of the comments would make my head fall off/melt/cry/loose faith in humanity...)

    Congrats on the re-aunch....

PS..just wanted to counter that by saying thanks to all the users here who help toward making this site such a great resource for musicians...
