first is sylenth1, second is vital
    IOI | Whyp
    both with ping pong delay

1/8 on left and 1/4 on right and 50percent feedback approximately

i'm quite sure this difference is not relating to the feedback knob

sylenth1 seems to put delay upon delay or something

while vital keeps the notes feedback on the exact intervals

    can someone confirm

    thanks!

So how much is the "mix" control set to? For me, the Vital FX are of higher quality.

As you can see the two delays are not identical. I have very often experienced what sounded good in one synth, sounded
less good with another synth. Some manufacturers also buy FX modules to it. Some FX are bad some very good.

If I got it right Sylenth is using the two delay times in series in pingpong mode. From manual: in pingpong mode the sound jumps from left to right and back, using the delay times specified by the Delay L and Delay R knobs.
So if you set one to 1/4 and the other to 1/8, it's jumping in 1/4 to the other side and then in 1/8 back. And so on depending on the feedback level.

do you know how can i do that through readelay in reaper

for example i know i can add taps in readelay set one to 1/4 and one to 1/8 (pan one left and one right) (small notice i think in reaper to match what sylenth does for some reason need to set it to 1/8 and 1/16 instead not sure need to recheck later) but how can i do the thing Sylenth does exactly through readelay the thing you said two delay times in series

    If I get what you're saying correctly (I don't think I do):

    - Make a new track
    - Send your Vital output to the new track
    - Put two instances of ReaDelay on the new track
    - Set the first instance to +0 wet, -inf dry, 100% left, -5 feedback, 1.0 1/8 notes
    - Set the second instance to +0 wet, +0 dry, 100% right, -5 feedback, 0.5 1/8 notes

Adjust wet and dry for the second instance until you're happy.

    and
sadly don't work because every second 1/8 is exactly on the 1/4 and therefore the delay will sound centered.

Err, that's a bit more complicated:
    1. Source send to Dly 1, JS: Delay w/Tempo Ping-Pong.
      - Here either set Delay (ms) to 0.0 and set Tempo Sync to 0.25 (would equal 1/8) or set Delay (ms) to the appropriate delay time in ms for an 1/8 note and set Tempo Sync to any value (because it will be over written by Delay (ms)).
      - Output Dry to minimum (because it's send) and of course
      - Ping-Pong Width to 100
    2. Dly 1 send to Dly 2, ReaDelay. Set this to 1/16 by setting Length (musical) to 0.5. Dry fader to -inf.
Means Dly 1 and Dly 2 need to be in separate tracks.

The first delay will produce a ping-pong 1/8 which triggers the second (1/16) with the same pan position.

Of course only if this is the effect you're talking about.

Whoahh! This is a huge lot of conversation for basically “I like the built-in delay, I am gonna use it” or “I don’t like the built-in delay, I am going to disable it and use one that I like/know how it works”

When you really know how to use synthesisers, it can be very important to use part of the internal effects so they are saved together with your own presets, because they are most of the concept of that specific sound.
Delay can be a very important part of a sound, so it's understandable that letter wanted to find a way to do this in Vital.
Obviously, this only matter if you try to organize your work professionally.
