I also had little things I would change now, I think lots of others do also, but you could pic at it all day. Just stop listening to it and move on. It's just a bit of fun anyhow. :chilling:

    Nice wet retro vibe.
Also quite curious about the last 5%, interesting loudness overall.

    Right now it is:
Lindell 50 Channel (not the Bus one)
    Freeverb 3
    Spaceship Delay
    Binvert (2 instances)
    MixCentric (1 instance)

I tried with a couple of different things, but a I could get away with those for workflow/speed reasons.
I could even get rid of MixCentric and use some free stuff, but that would take more time.
I just kept the Lindell Channel for 'rule reasons', but apart from that, no buses except for the mix bus.
I did it with AKG414-P. Who knows how it sounds in real monitors.

Doesn't Binvert have a non-bypassable limiter stage? Maybe I am recalling incorrectly but I thought it did, it's been a while since I messed with it as it's win only and 32b only.

I'm flattered. New rule made specially for me? I guess don't have the tools to mix. I've been trying to use free stuff as much as possible.

Anyway, the old Binvert I used doesnt have a limiter.

Did another version using Gmono instead of MixCentric, but just out of curiosity.

Not new, it was specified a couple of comments below the main post.

So basically just the channel strip you chose, tape emu and a few fx. Even if you find free stuff that fits the rules, it's still "additional" and thus forbidden, illegal, and world ending level heresy.

The free stuff I used was 1 reverb, 1 instance of delay and maybe tape, like most did.

Apart from that, only binvert and 1 instance of Gmono which, I guess, qualify as "few FX".

I didn't use "limiters, additional compressors, mastering EQs,..." or even "two of reverb, chorus", which are allowed.

@Soan The point of the contest is to limit ourselves to console workflow as close as possible. So no fancy digital math tricks are allowed either. You can only use what was available as a hardware in 60s-70s, and only in quantities and ways that make sense for hardware.

    Hello friends, how are you?
    :shalom:
    Hope everything is well...

    Ano...
    Can I still participate?
If still can, this is the result :

Stem Inserts : Satin + Lindell 80 Series
    Delay (Send) : Waves H-Delay
Reverb (Send) : Waves AR Reverb Plates
Master Bus : Lindell 80 Series + Satin
I don't use Bus Channel because I don't know if it is allowed or not.

Let me know what you think
Have a great day everyone

    Edit :
I'm confused to choose between V2 (above) or V3 this one :

The difference is in the Vocal Reverb, volume and Reverb send intensity on the Guitar Rhtym/Guitar Solo.
I only use 2 automation tracks which can be done in real time.

    Good job.
and I can hear a little sand in the high frequencies, similar to VST. :guru:
I can say that you did it quite well!

    No, no, of course not.
Tape, channelstrip, delay, reverb, maybe chorus, that's it. It's about vintage (emulation) mixing.

    Therefore, this isn't correct.

You made it so simple and with a small set of plugins, considering this is a wonderful result.
I can tell right off the bat that you can use your ears well.

The fact that the sand at high frequencies is of course not a mistake, probably no one will say that this is bad.
(At the same time, you can use something like Spiff , and something that gives a larger "Reverb" grain, getting a vintage result.

I mean, actually mess up a bit like this:

I used Spiff + Weiss DS + Quantum 2772 for this...
I'm wondering if it's possible to do this, is it normal !?

you can hear those highs cut off, but if you add saturation and balance the mix, the result is:

(Sorry, I write slowly, and I scared you with this...)

Can I think about it?

    Good, me likes.

    I'd go for V2.

Sorry, but that's a no-go on all three.
The point of the contest is not to produce a modern mix, but to limit yourself first and then see how good you can do.
