whats up comrades! I've been working on this one for the last 3-4 weeks and it's getting there. may still do some tweaking but it's at least to a point where I'm ready for some feedback. let me know what you think please.

sidenote: this is totally and completely a solo thing. i'm doing everything from the writing to the mastering full stop on my own in my little home studio so just keep this in mind.

Thanks guys and I hope you enjoy!!

While this isn't in the wheelhouse of genres I listen to, I do recognize that this is really good. Great track. Sorry, I am unable to bring you down a peg. :) I'm not really great at judging mixing/mastering... but must of us can recognize good music, and I'd say this is excellent!

For some reason this reminds me of lil peep with a modern organic rock twist

Wow. Thank you. It’s so easy to get completely lost in the sauce when you’re working on something by yourself every day and not getting any other outside opinions to kind of help nudge you back on track if you start running it into the ditch. I find myself really easily getting to the point of “is this any good at all anymore or have I just completely overdone everything until it’s shit” lol. So I very much appreciate your encouragement.

Thanks so much for that. I put a lot of hours and effort into making these songs and most of the time not really sure why. I’m a 30 year old w/ a big boy job and responsibilities but can’t seem to stop being obsessed with spending all of my free time making this stuff and spend most of that time doubting whether any of it is any good or not. So thank you

OK, you seem open to a critique, so here's mine.
Too wet, too much reverb. OK in spots, but it is overwhelming
Could drop. backing on Vox - maybe cut half the tracks and low pass on all but the Vox
Vox is done good, but some variance the wet/dry effects could help with dynamics
Basically, more dynamics, but dynamics that add, not distract
End of, day: make the song, not the production, front and center

too much reverb:guru:a little bit spacey (it's your music,If you had such an intention it's ok)
    anyway,it's a great pro track
    good luck

Hey! I dig it a lot! Great vibe and a good balance between unique and familiar, in my opinion.
My one note would be to consider slashing the intro in half. I'm not a "always make the song the most commercially appealing it can be" kind of person, but I've got this thing with intros... Completely up to personal preference, of course.

Absolutely Open to critique. That’s exactly why I posted so much appreciated for sure. I can absolutely see what you mean when listening back with that criticism in mind. The track is meant to be wet to a point just because I feel like it would probably be a different song if it wasn’t but I definitely hear places where It can be pulled back to bring some things out a bit more. It’s exactly what I mean by working on something alone for weeks at a time with no outside input.

I know I usually start with an effect maxed when adding it to a channel and then dial it back to taste. I would have probably benefited from you (or anyone) sitting there saying “maybe back the verb down a bit more” lol.

I appreciate you giving it a listen and giving me your thoughts. I’ll repost After tweaking.

Thanks for listening and taking the time to let me know what you think. If there are two of you commenting on verb then there’s probably something there. Much appreciated

Ha ha funny you’re saying that. I’ve gone back-and-forth constantly on keeping it where it is and cutting it in half.

Can relate dude. Four years ago when I started down this rabbit hole I was just like I’m just gonna get a little single input interface so I can get down some rough ideas quickly. Just for me though. I don’t care if anyone else ever even hears it.

Fast forward to now Where I have no money in the back because it all goes to gear to convert my detached shop into a studio and I’m here looking for others approval on forums lol
