Hey Guys,

i have two "easy" questions.

1st: Is there a unknown list of all the most used SNPIDs? -> Like: "Library X from Company Y = SNPID: aa1"
I have some good Libraries without nicnt-files, and if i create some nicnt-files by myself, i think there is a big risk to double some SNPIDs with libraries which already exist. I dont want to get some trouble in kontakt.

2nd: I know this topic - http://audiosex.pro/index.php?/topic/9527-kontakt-library-tabs/, (a very cool topic by the way), but i have some libraries, which are not listed there... especially regular/single tabs. Is there a 2nd topic or link, to get a bigger/other collection of known and functionally nicnt-files?

1st, I think you can put your own SNPID number in, as long as it is different for each library, you should be ok. SNPID's have been discussed in previous posts.

Valid range of alphabetic characters: a to f - Valid range of numeric characters : 0 to 9

for example aa1, df5, ff9, etc


2nd, Tabs/wallpapers, created by other members/forums. if you are no good with photoshop and create your own, then you need to ask very nicely if they can be created for you.

thanks for your fast posting.

But there is a problem.
If i have 20 libraries for example... than i dont know which numbers would be used from the creator of the specific nicnt-file.
Is there a tool to display the used numbers? Or will i have a look in each file?

You know... if i will create 5 nicnt-files with my own numbers now. And i will get next time an other librarie incl an own file, so i have a big risk to get trouble in kontakt. I hope i could explain my problem in understandable words.

ps: or i delete included nicnt-files and create the files by myself next time.

 

open the nicnt files in notepad and have a look. If the numbers are the same, kontakt will just say it is already installed, just change the number for your new library.

did not work with most libraries. I don't know why.

EDIT:
So i've did it with 4 libraries.

1. Library
1. Nicnt-File created with Lib-Dropper.
2. Library added via Add Library
3. Perfectly integrated and looks good.
4. Try to open a Instrument -> Error: This patch is encrypted and cannot be loaded.

2. Library
1. Nicnt-File created with Lib-Dropper.
2. Library added via Add Library
3. Perfectly integrated and looks good.
4. Try to open, 2/3 instruments worked fine. 3rd sais s.th. like "Unknown Fileformat". But all Samplefiles are the same Format -> ncw.

3. Library
1. Nicnt-File created with Lib-Dropper.
2. Library added via Add Library
3. Instrument worked fine but the Overview on the right side in Kontakt is completely in chaos. All Pan-Knobs and Volume-Knobs are touchable as a Volume-Slider not like knobs. (Wrong scripting?)

4. Library
1. Nicnt-File created with Lib-Dropper.
2. Library added via Add Library
3. Works perfect.

How To Fix

Case 1. Evolve Mutations 2
This is a registered library there no need for a new .nicnt file it only creates problems(Check your PM)
But before you re-add this library you need to a clean up(so to say)

Delete these following registry Keys(only for PC Sorry)

Right-Click and delete
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\Evolve Mutations 2 (K5DbCacheImportData)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\Evolve Mutations 2 (K5DbCacheImportSize)
Click Yes
---
Now Right-Click:
CurInstrDir and click Modify
Go to your sample library and copy the location of the first instrument and add in the Value data box
(it should look something like below)
O:\Kontakt 5 Libraries\Komplete 8 Ultimate\Evolve Mutations 2 Library\Instruments
Click Okay
-----------------------------------
Go to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center\Evolve Mutations 2.xml
and delete it remove fully from the recycle Bin(empty that baby lol)

Make sure Kontakt close!!! Open it click the refresh button beside the Add Library Tab, then Add Evolve Mutations 2 again and it should work(at least you hope)If not, Delete all of the following locations

Case 2. The Orchestral Grands
This is a Scene related issue. Meaning that when this library was released it was missing sample since released, it was said due to watermarking issues and many are waiting for the fix your not the only with this problem believe me.

Case 3. 8Dio - 1928 Steinway Piano
if you look in the folders of this library you will see that you have to install the ui installer, MAC & PC version are in there. Save to:
C:\Users\Your Name Here\Documents\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\pictures

Case 4. Braunschweig Upright Piano

no problem, remember if you want to use a custom wallpaper with original registered library, first add the library to kontakt then place the wallpaper.png in the folder. Cheers

 

Rather than me starting a new thread and risk bothering people-

Ive been having some trouble getting one of my libraries to work, (two actually. One of which was Evolve mutations 2 and il have an attempt at the fix here. I just jumbled them up and merged them into a whole Evolve folder (1+2) it did work fine. Just suddenly I got the same issue as stated here.

Anyway!
The main one I am bothered with is Project Sam Orchestral Essentials, Im having the same troubles listed as Evolve Mutations 2 here (this is the closest thing I have found to a relating topic. Thats why im posting here instead if a new thread).

My story with Orchestral Essentials..
It was the 2nd Kontakt library I had (after Action Strings). So I was fairly nooby to how this worked at the time, came across info about merging it into the same folder as action strings (which worked perfect for me.) Then upon reloading of Kontakt It had its own fully working library (no idea how it worked). But then it stopped working and I read about creating a custom Nicnt file. So I tried that (Using Action strings as template) and that sorted it. Never had a problem since.

Now however, I had to change PCs (win7 to win8 incase thats a known issue). I could add all of my libraries in no problem and use them (except PSOE and EM2).

The stage I am at now with PSOE is.. I couldnt get it to add library. So I installed Service Center 2.3.2 as suggested on multiple sites. I can now get the library added into Kontakt, but I get the usual message of "This patch is encrypted and cannot be loaded unless the specific library is registerd properly" etc whenever I try to load an instrument.

I have tried uninstalled kontakt/service center. Then deleting the XML file in the service center folder, aswel as the listed HKEY registries.

Any info regarding this would be really appreciated. I cant seem to find any more info regarding this specific problem. I have probably created an unneeded Nicnt file or something. But I did manage to make it work last year on the Windows 7 PC. Im just a little lost now.

PS, if it came with its own Nicnt file I cant remember. But the original will be long gone.

In your instructions though I ignored the EM2 stuff. I literally just fixed it myself before you replied but thanks anyway man!

Everything is going perfect now =)

(For the EM2 fix, I just copyed the merged library and deleted all of EM1 content from one, and EM2 content from the other. Both work perfect again =))

But as for this, I cannot thank you enough for the PSOE fix =) Been at that for a while now and you sorted it in the matter of minutes.

Ive never been one for forums and such, but I think I'll definitely be back here often. Just for the communities sake if nothing else!

He saved me alot of trouble with old sessions no longer working and having to find suitable substitute VSTi's
aswel as the fact ive been over site for site looking for a fix and always hitting dead ends. He sorted it in minutes =)
