Hi!
Is anyone using this limiter? I wondered what the community thinks about it, also in comparison with other often used stuff.

I have not used it much, but yes, it is good, it is transparent and does not distort. It is very similar to invisible limiter from A.O.M.

 

Thanks for the answers. I don't trust reviews because I have the feeling if a plugin company waves with a bit of cash, the reviews are not clean. That's why I like to ask in this community, Also here are no people who bought something for many dollars and then “need” to stand behind their purchase.
Many tools this day's can be considered good, but often in direct comparison others are even better! I would love to test Invisible Limiter from a sister site, but then I need to DL the full t-racks, which I don't need.

Is it really that good? Did you compare it to others?

 

My 3 favorites are:

1.) Fabfilter - Pro-L 2
2.) Brainworx - BX Limiter
3.) Voxengo - Elephant

 

I usually use a blend of the L-2, TDR Limiter 6 GE and Limitless depending on the material.

If you ever get the chance to use an hardware Weiss DS1-MK2, this unit holds VERY well against modern competitors. Even with agressive GR when the mix is sometimes lacking, it's still transparent.

 

I got the Softube Weiss ds-1 which seems to be a 1:1 Code from the Hardware and i think it works very well!

 

MLimiterX and MLimiterMB are both nice if you find them among the other 800 plugins they come with.

Stealth Limiter is probably one of the top 3 best plug-ins that IK has made IMO. Pretty fool-proof limiter that anyone can use to achieve good results. If you like it and it sounds good there's no reason not to use it.

 

It eats my CPU alive and I dont know why... on M1

 

this one also eats my CPU alive... I basically cant track guitars with these limiters running. The latency becomes insane

 

You do realize that neither Stealth Limiter or Weiss DS-1 are nowhere near zero-latency plug-ins, right? They need lookahead to function correctly, and then there's further latency added from the oversampling/anti-aliasing.

Suggestion: place a clipper on your mix bus, guitar bus, instrument tracks or whatever when you are tracking. Clippers are zero-latency (most of them at least) and they also catch peaks that go above the threshold you've set.

If it was me, I would've just decreased the volume so that I'm nowhere near 0dB. If your guitar tracks are constantly going into red they are probably way to loud.
