Hi guys,

I have my Ableton Live 9 R2R version from sister site which I install years ago.
I want upgrade my Ableton to newest 11 version, but in sister site is lot of different versions. I really would install that 11 version from R2R, but I see there is newest NoGrp version - this is the newest than R2R.


But, I see that a lot of people have different kind of problems with that newest Ableton versions.

So, what do you think? Which version I should install?

Just always use the latest version.

With each new version, bugs are fixed. Almost every manufacturer tries to eliminate all errors and make the workflow better. After all, manufacturers want to sell, and they only do that when users give positive feedback on the World Wide Web through reviews.

And is there any difference between that R2R version and that NoGrp version? Is not that R2R version of Ableton 11 more stable?

 

In general, you can say that R2R does a better job. R2R also sometimes makes the software faster.
For Ableton Live I have tested this version: Ableton - Live 11 Suite v11.1.0 - 14.03.2022 - R2R

R2R only cracks the software, if Ableton doesn't do its job properly, a cracker team can't do it any better.
But Ableton also gets emails from users with the problems and bugs, which they then hopefully quickly fix, so, always update.
Ableton is stable in principle, otherwise they would have long disappeared from the market.

So, do you think that I should install that NoGrp 11.1.6 version from sister site? You have installed this NoGrp version?
Like I said, I just want install the best newest 11 version available from sister site
And I was little bit afraid install that NoGrp, but in the end, like you said, they uses the same patches like R2R, so it should be fine

Probably these two versions are identical, because the only thing the teams do is edit the copy protection. I vote for R2R!

I've just upgraded to 11.1.6 after being on 10.0.6 for the last year or two.

11.1.6 is much better all around. It's more stable, it has really great new features (that have probably been in there since 11 was released but hey.)

So, an additional vote for the NoGrp 11.1.6 release here.

Hey guys, sorry for opening this thread again, but I just read on rutracker that this 11.1.6 has some of bugs - mostly they said that Spectrum and spectrum analyser in EQ Eight do not work properly (they said that even when they cut low end from sound and then just throw another EQ Eight then this EQ shows still that low end rumble which should be gone after hard cutting), and next problem is stereo panning, they say that Stereo Split Pan not work properly in this version. In other words, they said that in this version displaying frequencies, informations not work properly, even the Tuner shows not right info they said (I do not want post link because I am not want break the rules here, but you can find this thread on rutracker with pictures of those all bugs)

So, my question for all you which have that 11.1.6 NoGrp version is:

Is this true? What is your opinion on this?
How works that Spectrum information showing for you in this Ableton version?

I am just wondering if this is true and if you know about this bugs

Is really 11.1.6 stable, safe, and usable? I tried one of the first versions (11.0.2 I think) by R2R on Win, and it was a complete mess: continuous CPU spikes, unstable, glitches everywhere. I returned back to the old but gold 10. Is now the situation improved with the last release?

 

A lot has happened with Ableton, they have fixed a lot of bugs.

I think that was why I was still on 10.0.6. I'd tried an early version of 11. Found it to be unstable. Went back to 10. But I'm actually really enjoying 11.1.6. The new midi handling tools are fantastic.

I tend not to use Spectrum or Spectrum Analyser, but I've never noticed any problems with EQ Eight.

That said, it turns out that I'm using 11.1.5 and not 11.1.6. But I just tried it out by putting a copy of FabFilter Q3 after EQ Eight. I can't see a problem with either EQ Eight or Spectrum. Are people reporting this in the Ableton Forums?

 

11.2 it is, most stable ever.

That said, still not perfect. I feel like Ableton never will be 100% stable until Live 15 or 16. Probably a design issue that other DAWs don't have.

 

I still have versions 8, 9 and 10 installed.. 10.0.14 is the most stable I've used, and I believe is one of the last to allow export to MP3. Besides, I always stay one version behind everybody else and only move to the next when they iron out the niggling issues.

And as I always say, people don't care about what version of software you have, only what the finished product sounds like!

Have you tried the latest 10? I think it is 10.1.42. Has it become less stable or you stopped at 10.0.14? Just curious, thanks!

Cracked versions may crash a lot.
