This iLok is a pain in the ass. I will be having to run legit Pro Tools on Win 7 and have just got an iLok license. This might cause problems with some cracked software I am running such as maybe Autotune. Does anybody have a list of the main cracked iLok protected software or are there any workarounds????????

 

If you want to run a cracked iLok software along with a legal iLok software there won't be any problems just as long as the software is properly cracked and the iLok/PACE check is removed.
Else well the workaround is:
Go 100% legal
or Crack the softwares yourself
go 100% Illegal

I plan on purchasing the RC tube with the (for a limited time) free ilok2. I also want to purchase the waves bass rider plug in. I am currently (try before buy) using the ver7 AiR release of waves plugs.

I see that the waves shell is on ver 8 now. I also see that waves makes you download the new shell just for one plugin.

So, my question is, can i use the ver7 air release along side the new v8 shell/bass rider?


Is anyone doing this?

I tried this but the WaveShell V7.1 gave me the following error when I tried to load any V8 shell based plug-ins
"WaveShell-VST is not compatible with current application. WaveShell-VST and the Waves Plugins can only run in applications that support VST shell Plug-in (kPlugCategShell).shellCategory"

and I did some reverse engineering on both WaveShell V7.1 and WaveShell V8.x and the plug-ins to find out they use a different version string in the header.
So it looks like V8 might be able to load V7 shells, but not the other way.
One solution could be to patch the WaveLibs 8.X to WaveLibs V7.1 and WaveLibs V7.2 and also inject the header from AiR's version. Because if you remove the "+--------------+|TEAM AiR 2010 |+--------------+! tagline from the PE-Lite packed dlls, it won't load.
So yeah it's a bit complex to "crack/patch" it that way and I have no time to embed the PE-Lite headers to any V8 version, sadly.

Perhaps someone will come up with a speedy smart solution on this or we have to wait for our brothers in AiR to do the job for us.

Well Xiny6581 each to their own area of expertise. I'll leave cracking to the crackers and just get on with making music myself.But here is a question: will team Air's Waves v.7 run alongside legit pro Tools 9 with its iLok key??????????

 

As I pointed out in my first reply it won't work if an iLok/PACE based plug-in hasn't got the whole protection removed.
Now, when you ask if Air's Waves v.7 will run. I say in theory it should work alongside PT9, however I can't sake this 100%. Due I don't have PT9.o, nor have I tried that solution.

i love my ilok2, no issues here with legit/less legit soft
At least I dont have to beg anytime to get new registratuions once i changed my hardware and reinstall anything

 

I'm using AIR's v7 full release. I also have an iLok2 with a legal install of Wave's new H-EQ plug as well as legal AutoTune 7. No problems at all under Reaper.

 

just found this on the waves download page:

V6, V7, and V8 can run concurrently on the same computer. V8 installations will override the V6 or V7 versions of identical plugins. V3, V4, V5, and V8 cannot run concurrently on the same computer. V8 installations will completely uninstall previously installed Waves versions V3, V4, and V5 of ALL products.
